Stephanie, your work is amazing! I often turn to your RU-vid tutorials for baking steps, and my results have always been successful so far. Thank you so much!
Made this with ripe mangoes, because i am in a tropical country and they are abundant here. It's delicious. You are my inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge about baking and for all the awesome recipes. More power.
I am just about to become 80years of age and tried this recipe. You made it so simple to follow the directions and today I tried baking as a frustrated wannabee baker, guess what? They were delicious and made me proud to look at them let alone taste them, I feel almost proud of myself except your instruction must take the credit. Next? well I just have to try making your recipe for Puff Pastry. Thanks so much for being there.
They look great! I've tried several puff pastry recipes including hers. With that said there is a much simpler version that uses frozen butter and a cheese grater. It's quick, easy and yields almost the same result without all folding.
This was the best recipe to follow, loved it so much and my valentine enjoyed it as well. Your way of explaining and going step by step was flawless!!!
Stephanie, you are by far my favorite RU-vid baker! I love all the goodies you bake and there’s just something about you that makes me want to come and hang out with you in your kitchen and talk with you while you’re baking 😁
I just finished baking me turnovers. I made them a little small at first in case they didn't turn out well I won't waste filling. But they turned out beautiful. I filled with my own cherry pie filling. I know now how to make pastry flakey dough!! Thank you so much for your recipes. I watch your videos all the time over and over. 😊😊😊😊😊
Looks absolutely delicious and quite easy to make! You know...if you add raisins to the mix and fill the turnovers with whipped cream (after they have cooled down of course) you got yourself a Dutch delicacy. Thank you for this wonderful video, Stephanie!
Thank you for always posting the best recipe videos so easy to follow your awesome. Looking forward to all the great recipes you make this year. Much appreciated.
Apple turnovers aka appelflappen is very popular in the Netherlands. It's a bit different though: - We don't cook the apple (just cut small pieces add sugar and cinnamon, raisins optional) - Use fork to press down the sides (very secure and creates nice look)' - Wet the top of the apple turnover and dip into sugar I use premade puff pastry and it takes me 5 mins from cutting the apples to putting them in the oven.
Wow Am ur new follower from India As it’s a very new recipe here so u can imagine how different it is when I prepare this dish...ThanQ very much for this yummy dish
Ooooooooo! I expected this to look hard. It doesn’t look extremely hard. I have a potluck at my church on Sunday and this will really blow them away, because I’m 10. Lol.
I made these Apple Turnovers using my Kissable apples and they turned out great, both in look (golden pastry and pink apple stuffing inside) as well as taste. The only thing I found hard is working out the size from rolled pastry, so mine became slightly smaller than yours. Yours look very tidy i must say.

Hi Stephanie I am a new subscriber to your channel. I love to bake. You are very precise in your recipes. Do you have a recipe for chocolate pound cake? Thanks for the videos.
❤️ your dog! 😘 I would like to make this 🍏 turn overs with the beautiful pink flashed apples I bought, the variety is called kissable💋apples😍. I now need to buy sparkling sugar and i also pearl sugar for the Amaretty cookies. Every time i watch your video, my shopping list goes bigger and bigger.😀 The question is, will i find them in my local supermarket? 🤔I hope so.
@@joyofbaking thank you 🙏 My supermarket do not have this kind of sugar, pearl or sparkling and I’m disappointed but now will try to use ordinary sugar. That pearl sugar i might make with breaking up those sugar cubes into little pieces.
When I'm cutting a portion from the larger blitz puff pastry block, I'll presumably need to trim it before getting exactly 225g for the turnovers. Can any trimmings be scrunched together and re-rolled?
I’d recommend not to! There are layers in puff pastry which creates that flakey, irresistible texture! If you scrunch it together, it ruins the perfect layers, which may or may not ruin your turnovers.
