The reflection of the movie on the lake gets me EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. Finally we are slowly starting to see reviews that are not focused on specs but on actual every day use.
@@SimpleLife2.000trade offs are discussed in the video, which I’m going to assume you didn’t watch. And I said this was a good review about the experience as opposed to numbers. Where did I say it’s the best VR? I don’t even own one but I finally heard someone discuss the ACTUAL experience.
Loving your reviews. Spot on. Been using Apple devices since 1989 and I have never been more impressed than I have been with Vision Pro. It is a paradigm shift.
I completely agree - the best part is that we don't REALLY know where this is going. I think a lot of people say "glasses," but the implementation in 10-15 years is going to be so incredible.
Vision Pro reminds me of when I bought my first Panasonic cell phone. It was the size of a walkie talkie, had a battery life of about 20 minutes and was expensive, as was the cell plan. You could touch the future but there was a ways to go before promise met reality. I hope I live long enough to see this happen one more time.
Dude you NEVER let me down. And I totally agree with every syllable. The way you think, the way you deliver it. You put into words, the very message I try to convey. Thanks for another banger. 💪🏾
First, I just bought my Vision Pro a couple of days ago and have worn it for about 3 hours and it doesn’t bother me one bit. I think the feeling of heaviness is subjective. When I was demoing it at the Apple Store, I was happy when the demo appointment was over and realized that I just had worn the device for a full 30 mins without being bothered. Also, I was one of the early adopters for the VR headsets several years ago and I am seeing the very same complaints I saw with the HTC Vive, Oculus, etc… “Where are the games? There isn’t enough enough content, the device is too heavy…” Now, here we are in 2024 and we are now on the Meta Quest 3 and people are talking about what a great value the Quest 3 is. So we are in familiar waters here. The AVP will improve just like all the other goggles improved over time. I’m sure we will be here discussing the AVP 3 in a few years but we are just going to start off walking first then run once more people jump on board.
Andru, not the Pony Express! I thought you were going to start with the beginning of internet😂. You did a great job with this. You and Jon landed the one-two punch! Someone posted a picture earlier of the first Mac, MacBook, iPod, iPhone, iPad and Vision Pro sitting side by side in a display and that visual was profound. The AVP is a FIRST generation. This video gave me the same understanding of what we are actually witnessing with the release of the AVP. You were one of the first popular reviewers willing to look “uncool” to his peers. You and Brian Tong❤. Great video.
Very very much appreciate those kind words! I had to take it to the Pony Express - that was the first "third party communication" tool that I found! Just be glad I skipped over morse code! Think about how we went from that first telephone to today's smartphone. Apple Vision Pro is that first phone - I can't imagine where we are going, but it's gonna be amazing to witness.
@@Andru it was great!Creative writing, an education disguised as entertainment and you tied it all together flawlessly. You made connections that showed off those analytical chops. It was brilliant. You identified every critical element that most of your peers overlooked or failed to distinguish from the ordinary. I was starting to worry, but after watching this I felt more hopeful.
Actually, the modern postal system could be traced as far back to Kublai Khan circa 1260. His messengers could travel throughout the entire domain and no one would touch them, or even think about it. Kublai Khan would have killed anyone who tried and everyone who knew them… 🤔
After experiencing the amazing Apple Store demo, I went out and bought a Quest 3. It’s nowhere near as elegant, but it’s amazing for game playing. And when friends try it on they are very much wowed. I’ll wait a few more years and see who provides the better experience and price when I decide to get my next VR unit.
I"ve had the Vision since Jan and I LOVE IT. To watch music with the G-Force music visualizer on a huge screen floating in front of me like a virtual TV I can make smaller, larger, move all around is so amazing that only people who use the device could ever imagine. Watching movies is, well, better than being in a movie theater, using the AirPods Pro or the AirPods Max really makes it so immersive, it's almost like magic. I use my Vision every day for several hours. Thanks for your great review Andre. I agree with everything you said. The day we can have something like this with some kind of 3-d hologram floating screens we can place where we want to without having to wear a head set, that's what I'd like to see, but I doubt I live long enough for that... so this is the best I will probably ever see, the Vision Pro. Cheers.
@@a_hook_doesnt_listen its SOOO important given how the software and cameras work when doing this kind of lidar / photogrammetry stuff; I used to do photo-real recreations as data collections and testing tech for Facebook Reality Labs. Lighting is EVERYTHING, and super dark / black surfaces are the very hard to recreate and not good backrounds or wall colors to capture depth of objects in the foreground.
I almost didn’t watch this video thinking you just made one more video to get views but it’s actually very interesting that you focus on what some others completely missed. You’re the best Vision Pro salesman.
I discovered the Vision Pro last week at the Apple Store trying it while my iPhone was being repaired. I was absolutely blown away, and that half hour demo was one of the most memorable 30 minutes of my life, incredible! I’ve been thinking about it ever since and four days or later I just ordered one. I can’t say I really noticed the weight of the device while I was wearing it, I was just so immersed in this incredible world. I can’t wait to get using in my everyday life.
I just bought an a avp and I love it so much. My wife and I spend money on experiences as we are a youngish couple with no kids, and my justification of this device is no different. The experience is incredible
I appreciate the positive review. I have the AVP and am a nurse going out in public every day. To me, this device is better than everyone with their heads down in their phone 24/7. At least you’re looking up, and to me less isolated than with your phone.
Personally I will never forget them. But the memory of them will likely die with us. They had their time (briefly) and they failed to change the world the way the iPhone did. The first PC I ever touched was a pocket computer from 1980. I still have that one. I carried a Pocket computer from the early 90s. I used it to take notes in university classes. I had several PDAs in the early 2000s. None of them had the impact on me or the world that iPhone did.
Fantastic review. I’ve had the Vision Pro since launch and you hit every nail on the head. Just wait till future OS updates are released that bring new and exciting experiences
I thought it was imperative that I leave a comment on this particular video, I have sent your previous video to some peers and others that I wanted to introduce this product in the best way to them that they would be able to grasp where this goes from here, But this video Bruv is the best, you took me thru a journey that I recall personally, this complete approach was brilliant and very well executed, continue to do what you do and thank you for this creation…. It took me thru a thought process that solidified my journey that continues from day one.
Thank you for a refreshingly delightful review after so many reviews have focused on text specs, comparisons and harshness due to the fact that it’s the first generation product. I’ve been watching reviews for a few months now and anticipating this device for a few years now. I am super excited about the visionOS platform and curious about how they’re gonna evolve the hardware in the future. Great video.
I have watched just about every review of the AVP on RU-vid, and yours is by far the BEST one yet. For me, this product is the beginning of something new and quite amazing. Thank you for your perspective and I look forward to more of this kind of product reviews. Good stuff!
Well said Andru! Can't wait to try it here in the UK! The experiences with Apple products over the years has been a journey for sure, excelled in many areas, as well as some failures, the adventure has been quite the ride. I remember my first ever Apple product, the ipod nano (first edition) in black, it was just awesome. My next was the bubble gum green iMac, followed by various ipod touch, iPhones, iPads and MacBooks. I've loved them all barr the iPhone 3G. I too believe that the Vision Pro is the doorway/gateway to a new generation of Apple AR devices, this first edition is a premium device at a premium cost, and I do envy a little those who are lucky enough to have tried and bought it. Anyways great video!
I have been going thorugh eye surgery and recover for several months and so have put off demoing the Apple Vision Pro, but think I am about ready to. I am wanting to use it as a mobile office that I can work with in different places. I am a writer and always researching so I am looking to use it for productivity. Thanks for this great video. It shows me the Vision Pro in the way I imagined it would be. Not perfect, but a great step forward.
Thank you for your insight brother. I am an avid enthusiast of the greatest products … I can honestly say, you had the best pre-release and post-release Vision Pro reviews that I’ve seen out of 100s of videos. Keep up the great work and continue to provide these much needed insights. Thank you.
Maybe you are missing the point of the whole presentation. There are a myriad of other reviews that are NOT half an hour, free will is an amazing thing… 🤔
Absolutely great review. Tired of some bias review only intended to buy and return it for views/money and only have one intention of bashing it without learning from it while trying to comparing it to ipad, 3d glasses or other device that can't even come close to its capabilities and call it for a day to further hindered people of what the device is truely. That ended up making me unsubscribed them knowing they are not capable of telling what it is without rushing to conclusion. What makes great review especially something that people haven't seen or tried before, you got to tell them what it is and how it can bring something to the users experience and you did just that totally flawlessly.
- I can imagine air traffic controllers and the military will find the Apple Vision Pro useful to show many screens simultaneously that are 150-400 inches each...that's a lot of information. - Current F16 figher helmets are $400k each with just a HUD, whereas the AVP could be incorporated into a helmet for far less than $400k. - Infantry soldiers wearing a helmet with the AVP. - AVP's passthrough is 120 degrees which allow real world interaction with the firearm, target, throwing/catching. - I want to get the Apple Vision Pro, it's not that expensive compared to a great home theater, and people don't realize that it's got eye tracking (no mouse cursor), an 8k screen, many many 300 in screens, 3D camera, spatial audio speakers, creates an Imax or the biggest commercial theater screen size even when you're sitting in a tight coach airline seat. - the eye tracking (replaced a cursor) us a game changer. - way easier to develop than Facebook Quest. - AVP is not constrained to a box game model like the Quest, instead the AVP world model is infinite. - air traffic controllers can see the perspective of a commercial plane pilot landing. - The AVP's many many virtual 150in-300in screens can replace a commercial airline cockpit's many physical screens, and that physical space can hold more important physical equipments.
Thank you, that was a great explanation of this remarkable product that I have not even tried yet. As a Quest 2/3 user, I cannot wait to try it to see if the quirks of the Quest series are gone.
NICE! it's not a review, it's a philosophical analysis and that requires depth of thinking. This product has so many barriers to tackle in order to live to its full potential it will probably take 10+ years, realistic 3D content with new UI/UX designs built from the ground up for the spatial computing era, glasses form factor or even content lenses in order to really "disappear", longer battery life to last all day and the list goes on and on... the unbelievably mind-boggling engineering challenges apple itself facing in order to get there (form factor especially) is insane.
I have learned I no longer need a keyboard or a trackpad as I learn how to use voice and fingers. Vision Pro is a productive substitute for iPads or laptops . While flying from Boston to Palm Springs, I was able to complete a fairly complicated 18 slide presentation. That’s what I call portable and productive spatial computing that is not matched in any other device.
Agreed AR is the future, but this product is still a concept. I’ll stick with my PSVR2 and we’ll talk come a more convenient Apple VR/AR package. Vision Pro is not convenient and that is its flaw. Can it survive long enough for Apple to make it convenient?
I have been an Apple user for years and I am probably more locked in into the ecosystem as compared to a lot of people. While it is truly exciting to see Apple Vision Pro's launch (and I do believe that Apple joining the VR/AR game is a sign that this market will start to grow rapidly), the $3,500 starting price is just wayyyyy too much for the majority of the consumers. I did something that I could have never seen myself doing -- I ordered a Meta Quest 3. I am really curious to see what the future of spatial computing looks like, but the Apple tax this time is simply way too much for me.
Also thank you for everything you posted about vision pro over the past few weeks. The vision pro I think points towards not only a screenless future but also one where you control or type most things with your hands and voice. (The voice will happen soon, I don't think language model siri was done at launch)
I like this guy…. He is so right…. Vision Pro is what you make it… it’s personal! It’s the same with Apple Watch…. It’s the piece tech reviewers back then MISSSED!
I did my review on Apple Vision Pro as well. It’s definitely a marvel I call it the “long haul experience” is going to be a step by step journey for Apple Vision Pro to get better and better 🎉🎉
Iphone/smartphone is just a very limited computer with a cellphone built in. It doesn't improve how you interact rather a downgrade for portability back in the day. As for VR/AR and Vision Pro, It is the first device that can overthrown pc in potential and intuitive( hand tracking not there yet ) while being portable with the capabilities of having 20 screens that float and resizable that you can place anywhere in the world, that small basic feature alone should be enough to tell you how great Vision Pro and other upcoming headsets are
This guy is absolutely right and what’s funny each time Apple has create =d something that changed everything the same people said they never would and the device was useless. They forgot about experiences and looked at just TECH.
its actually HERE already. The iPhone was perfectly useful from day one. The iterations just made it better and better. At least that's what I take your meaning "get there"; as in ready and useful. Future iterations of this kind of tech will have you interacting with full body photo-realistic avatars transported into your living room. You will be able to sit next to your loved one/friend/colleague/first date like they are right there in the same room, even though they are on the other side of the country. And that will likely be in the next 10 years or less given what proof of concepts already are shown by Meta's "Codec Avatars".
Hello Tokyo! Truth is truth. The trip is not about a snoring giant passenger rows behind you, it’s about the destination and your experience. Spot on. Humans are fearful of feelings, especially talking about them. Instead we turn to science and tech specs to understand & explain, to get a handle on our experience, our feelings around Vision Pro. Guess what’s next! Digital smells - yes, Vision Pro now allows you to smell the fireplace burning pine.
Cant wait till the Vision Pro can make and receive phone calls, can be a self-contained computer Meta and Microsoft teamed up, and Microsoft has the Halolens, same price as Vision Pro
It's a kickstarter e-reader that uses a form factor kind of like pure sunglasses without the lenses, it's entirely meant for just reading books and nothing else@@Andru
They are impressed with everything the vision pro does like a toddler. Which is funny to see for me because this is all stuff VR headsets of been doing for years.
I agree, I watch more media content on Vision Pro now. I have two 80” TV, Outdoor TV, and 4 65” TV’s at home…. I rarely watch them now. Because in Vision Pro the experience is Amazing. It reminds me of when I used to buy lots of High End Watches. But when Apple Watch came out I stop wearing my Cartiers because I could only get time and date on them…. Vision Pro at this point only real imaginaries get it and real imaginaries are not TECH REVIEWERS
saying begining of iPhone is the same as AVP is pure madness, iPhone came in an era where cellphones were starting to become very popular, it was cool to just see somebody hold one . everybody wanted a cellphone at that time, so it was a completely different context. imo now its not the same! nobody is crazy about a VR headset only a small niche.
But I said it's like the beginning of the phone, not the beginning of the iPhone. People weren't clamoring for a huge, clunky telephone when it was first invented. It took lots of iteration for it to catch on.
People keep saying this thing is "the future". It definitely it is not... by the way, anyone that puts on ANY VR headset for the first time has the same reactions.
GREAT Video… but: somehow Apple triggered all Tech-Influencers to publish videos about how people should care more about the „unmatched experience“ and all that rather than on the tech behind it. That’s really a bit strange how Apple seems to orchestrate all that. They have seen that people talk a lot about the technical details, which can be a mixed bag. But of course in Apples interest the reviewers should focus more on the „magical experience“. In the last 6 hours videos about that pop up everywhere.
Apple didn't direct me to make this, didn't give me any talking points, and didn't even provide me with a review unit. My opinion is that most people are focusing on tech specs on a product where the tech specs aren't what matter (although COMFORT specs do, for sure!)
