Apple Vision Pro vs. Meta Quest 3 Full Comparison - Design, Comfort, OS, Gaming, Movies, 3D + More! 

Only me that really enjoys the Quest 3's design? It looks very cybernetic with the slim form factor and three cameras.

In my opinion, I think Meta's best answer to apple vision pro would be to release a quest 3 pro with a bit more competitive pass through quality and higher fidelity and give it like a 1k price tag. I think people would be more interested in that now. That would be wishful thinking though.

Thanks for the real comparison. I have both plus the Quest Pro. As a non-gamer, I don't use the Quest much. The Apple Vision Pro is exactly what I wanted. Your video details the differences clearly. I'd forgotten about the social viewing advantage of the Quest. However, I don't have friends with it so I've never taken advantage.

I am in all in Apple guy, but I just bought a Quest 3. Although the user interface is nowhere near as smooth as the Vision Pro, I am enjoying gameplay on the Q3. In a couple years, we’ll see if Meta ups their UI and hardware or if Apple gets good games, adds controllers, and drops their price significantly.

Very good in-depth video.For Quest 3 even to be comparable to Vision Pro is noteworthy.As a VR enthusiast with Quest 3 and PSVR2 .And the old Rift S I love new VR technology even if I cant afford/justify the Vision Pro I'm happy it exists.I normally only use my Quest for PC Gaming,but for an experiment i tried to replicate the Vision Pro features using hand tracking,Computer tasks and movie watching and was surprised how good the hand tracking worked!The Quest App Immersed connected to my Laptop was Amazing! Multiple huge screens that I could position anywhere while using my physical keyboard.I finally tried Bigscreen and the experience was better than my expectations.Crystal clear image and it felt like I was in a cinema.So after all these experiences I'm not feeling as jealous anymore 😅

Hey Buddy, very nice review! How is the display quality on Quest 3 ? Many people say that the display is grainy and looks like 480p or 720p? I want to buy Quest 3 mainly for watching movies and shows. Also, how is the 3d movie experience ?

21:30 The thing about resolution is just that it is rendered at a lower resolution to save battery life. You can choose to bump it up and it'll look crisp and clear. That's a plus point for the Quest in that you can very easily change up the settings of how your quest operates. You can change a ton of stuff like recording bitrate, resolution, cpu power, foveated rendering and more. Not sure if Apple allows this.

Great overall head to head video :) I really want to try a AVP for work. But. I dont own a macbook so.. that 3500 dollars + a macbook is quite the jump. I mostly do 3d motiondesign and after effects work. Adobe programs in general. I guess there are some "ipad" equivalent apps that work native with the AVP. But having the remote desktop for me is essential. I say working on a Quest 3 is ok, its not the best. And still latency is not good enough for me, and my line of work. Virtual Desktop comes close, Immersed in a close second spot for me. Horizon Workrooms is very well implemented into the OS, but lacks in latency. I'm guessing that AVP has the single virtual monitor because of that exact thing, latency. And since you essentially can copy paste from standalone apps to the desktop makes the use of both native apps and virtual monitor much more of a proper use case.

I can see the pixels on the quest 3. Not too distracting, but I notice it's there. Is there a noticeable difference between seeing the pixels on the quest 3 vs apple vision pro given the different lenses and resolution?

i watch movies and content in bigscreen as well. i have a really enjoyable experience and it is definitely more social than the AVP. I invited my sister watch a 3D movie last Friday. We were in our seperate homes, yet we sat and watched and was able to talk to each other and laugh together. And though the Quest 3 doesn't have envitonments that matches the movie or genre you are watching, it does still reflect lights of what going on in the movie onto the environment, just like on the AVP.. But mostly what I am hearing is that if you're not in the Apple ecosystem, or a big movie buff that can't enjoy a movie without 4K resolution,, than you will never truly get the most out it. Since I'm a Windows and Android user, I will stick with the Quest. But very informative video! Thanks for the comparison.

How is the AVP with glasses? Have you tried wearing it with your glasses, or did you get the lenses? do you use glasses for the quest?

I have a 2 and I spend a lot of time in passthrough. Especially when I'm around people. It makes me wish there was more ar experiences. So I could feel more present

Great video though and I agree though I struggle to find an audience for the AVP other then collectors and enthusiasts.... as even if your heavily in the apple ecosystem a quest 3 will still do more not as graceful but will still do more... and if your not heavily in the apple ecosystem then the AVP becomes pretty much an internet/streaming box with 30%-50% better visuals.

Please tell me the iPad OS versions of Resident Evil work in the headset. If so this could be huge for on the go gaming and I would seriously consider jumping onboard.

The apple device ability to put screens / apps on different places at home and who knows maybe in the world by using GPS is fantastic. You do a trek today at the US and you are living in Spain and decide that mext year you return to the same trek in the US and the screen are waiting there for you at the same spot including direction arrows hou had created in the past.

What happens with the persona if someone else uses your account? Since it's using scanned bitmap data I'm thinking 🤔

I retunred my vision cause i'm poor but the movie experience is impossible to explain. It was moving and i had a emotioal reaction to it. I bought the meta 3 its coming tomororw but i have a feeling im gonna be sad watching movies on that ,but im hopeful LOL

Why didn't you show the distance view of the menu where the screens go big 🤔 and in your opinion is it better than the immersed visor headset ??? and i have 2 Mac's, iPad and the magic trackpad 2 and I where's logic pro x in Mixed Reality which the devices and instruments that show up in your room? That's the only way I would buy one if they do logic pro x on it and I do have a Macbook pro and it works fine with my Quest 3 bro inuse it with logic pro x I only use apple products for recording and making music and there's none of that on this headset it's all on the Quest 3 I have Music Production DAWs on Quest 3 offer mixed reality functions that I can record live into Logic as the Quest 3 has a headphone jack and the vision pro doesn't oh and my Mac's are not compatible as they are i7 Intel based Mac's so this headset is useless to me for my use cases I would rather buy a Mac Studio if apple had sense theybeoukd posistion this headset as the future of music production and launched it with logic pro in Mixed Reality do you know how long I waiting for this headset to be shown praying it had logic on it andbibgot disappointed and bought a Quest 3 and I never looked back since and I am using it with all 3 of my apple devices

As an Apple fan I can not justify $3.5K for a beta version of a product. I purchased two MQ3’s for myself and my son at a cost of $1150 and as gamers we are completely in love with these devices. There are many websites, YT videos, etc. on how to get things done in the MQ3 including real work. Just like iOS if it’s not native there’s an APP FOR THAT and right now the same can’t be said for the VPro. If Meta can keep the prices as competitive as they currently are I’ll be a MQ buyer for a while.

I have a feeling these high quality immersive environments for movie brands don't catch on which is a shame.

I think its difficult to compare the two headsets when the vision pro costs 7x what the quest 3 costs. its not even in the same universe when it comes to price. Its not too surprising that apple is trying to sell an overpriced "premium product" but its really not worth paying SEVEN TIMES what the quest 3 costs, just to have less things to do with it. And of course they removed the internal battery because the headset already weighs more without the battery than the q3 does with the battery. The video quality is undeniably great, but jeez for that price, i might as well buy a quest 3, and also a 4k tv, and still have 1,000 dollars left.

finally a decent comparasion if i have to resumen it its simply as: -1 AVP can do what it can, in a better quality that quest 3. -2 quest 3, may have worse components but can do a lot of things that the vision pro cant do things to mention: -avp is a expensive visor with expensive components, ofc u have to expect better quality with a higher x6-7 price -quest 3 is a device created to be accesible (cheap) and a first step into vr/ar for ppl, meta cant allow themselves expensive components, thats was a factor of why they had problems with the quest pro, i mean they alrdy losing money lol for taking the risk of develop the vr market -for now avp has no apps and just promises, theres no much uses cases for the avp from now and vision pro youtubers are boring, doing anything but enjoying thier headsets, be sure that u will had to wait till vision 2 to starting to see those promising apps, and even more knowing how slowly apple do updates, i realy doubt they will put the same enthusiasm that zuckerberg in updates, thats prob the only good thing about him

Having the battery external is actually really clever because when the battery pack eventually degrade you can replace it easy with a sim tool by the plug the hole there is so you can change the battery

I was about to buy a Quest 3, thinking there was not that much difference, but now I really see the difference and will hold out for the Vison Pro. Perhaps I should be mad at you because you convinced me to spend $3000 or more, but I can really see that I would have been really disappointed if I bought the Quest 3. Great Video but if your looking for higher quality looking movies or tv shows its not that the quest 3 can't deliver the 4k Wow experience, its the Stream or the Movie file your looking at is low resolution , under 6 gigs. The Quest 3 is more than capable of having that 4k experience if you have a high quality Stream , or Movie/Tv show file I assure you yours eyes can only see 20/20 at the highest resolution. Apple Pro Vision uses the highest bitrate streams and built in movie files optimized for the highest quality. Again try using high quality streams and movies especially 3d, 15 gigs or more and you will see the results for yourself , keep up the good work , I can't wait to try out the Apple Vision Pro not to buy just demo.

I would personally rather buy 2 or 4 Quests to share and have VR parties with guests and have money left to spend on a ton of games that i can share between headsert. That sounds like a way bigger value proposition than a single pretty new toy that does less and is more a solo experience device

It’s easier to take the AVP on and off, even with the battery, because you don’t have to put on the controllers. I know Question has hand tracking but it’s not near as good or useful as on AVP.

Gone are the days of phisical screens. Once those VR googles will transform to the size of oakley sunglasses and technology will get smoother then why buy a phisical screen , a tablet or phone. You will need a keyboard , a mouse , a writing pad and a cpu cosule unit and VR sunglasses and that is it.

It's a pretty easy question I think. Apple : less function, lower quality in generall and way to expensive. Quest 3: more Functions, does actually do what it says, better quality lower costs. The point is, the quest 3 set a new milestone of VR by not needing to set boundaries and it just started.... It will get updates like the q2 and apple better have a good plan, apple is already behind, they need to do something or they lose this fight by all meanings.

I don’t understand what people expect, reality? We have reality. Vision Pro is the craziest thing I’ve ever experienced.

You could buy a quest 3, a high end gaming pc setup, and have a 1000 left for anything else, just for apples lenses and front “glass” to be easily scratch able

Good video! I noticed the extremely blurry edges in the VP. Seems like you have to look at thing directly to get maximum sharpness.

I don't understand why all of the reviews recommend not buying the Apple Vision Pro. Yes, I get that it is expensive, but if you have some money saved up, I feel like it is worth the purchase. I have only heard great things about the vision pro, and the negatives have all been gaming related, or can be remedied by purchasing a Magic Keyboard or by switching to the dual loop head band. The Apple Vision Pro not being a gaming console might be a bummer for some people of course, but VR gaming on the Quest 3 doesn't look that great either. (Forgive me if I am wrong, I have never used VR before and have never had any interest in the Quest 3). So if you are going to choose between the two, the only one that you might have a use case for is the Apple Vision Pro. Now, the Apple Vision Pro vs the PSVR 2 is a different story. The fact that there is a horizon game on PSVR 2 tells me that VR gaming on that thing is pretty impressive. However, I would assume that there are not too many games of that quality? Maybe 20 or less? You should just play games on a normal console like the PS5 standalone to save some money in my opinion, instead of getting a couple weeks of enjoyment out of a limited selection of good quality VR games. The Apple Vision Pro though, I can see real benefits of incorporating that into your day to day life. Watching movies, organising schedules, office work, other types of work and productivity (that do not include video editing), web browsing, I can see myself choosing to do all of these things on the Apple Vision Pro instead of on my old, half broken laptop or on my iPhone 11 to make it all a fun, seamless, and even a relaxing experience. I'm taking an all or nothing stance on this. The Apple Vision Pro is crazy expensive, but I'm going all in with it because of the versatile use case. Competing VR headsets are cheaper, but I'm skipping them because of their extremely limited use case of playing small, repetitive games (with the occasional high-quality game on PSVR 2, which has many downsides of its own).

Seems like a pretty boring device for $3500, no pcvr game compatibility, limited app store apps, no controllers, just limited basic games, 2 hours of battery life with a battery pack connected to the device, doesn't justify the high price tag by a long shot, I'll take the Quest 3 over the Apple Vision Pro any day, the Apple Vision Pro doesn't offer anything exciting at all, just seems like another boring Apple product as usual

I don’t understand why anyone would want something like this? I mean......its a computer stuck on your head. Why not use a regular computer, or your phone, tablet or whatever. Much more comfortable than those heave goggles infront of your eyes. It feels like something that might be cool to just try out, and play around with for a while. But to use it everyday instead of your computer etc? WHY would anyone want that? And who can afford that $3500 toy? Its insane! I would have to take out a loan, and then pay it of for years and years...
