Got the original SE last September and it was pretty good for the price, didn't see the extra value in paying more for a series 7, and it's still really snappy in day to day use. Charging is a little slow but it makes up for it with its excellent battery life

I'm good with my SE gen1. It does everything I need it to do. I'm keeping it until apple no longer sends updates for it.

Didn’t care of all the extra features so I went and grabbed the se2 in midnight. This should last for me awhile especially that it has the s8 chip. This was a no brainer for me

I still have my SE and I wear it daily, even with the new updates it really is fast and smooth enough that I don't really see a need to upgrade to the SE2. I was seriously hoping that the SE2 would end up having the smaller bezels that the S7 and now S8 have, but it didn't. Honestly I would say if you're looking for a first time apple watch you could snag the first SE for an even greater discount. It still works perfectly fine and the speed is really not something most people are going to notice.

The only downside and the thing that made me return it is Those insanely huge bezels, it makes everything look like some knockoff

My original Watch SE still functions perfectly so I’m going to hang onto it. It does what I need it to do. I was looking at the SE2 but will pass on it for now.

Bought the Series 7 last year. But if I was in the market for my first smart watch right now or upgrading from a really old one, this is an absolute not brainer IMO.

It does look like a good upgrade from the series 3. However, I just can't stop thinking of how much watch I can get for that amount of $$$, and more importantly, the thought of paying hundreds of dollars for a watch that I have to charge pretty much every day is a huge quality of life regression imo. There are tons of useful features, but I'm still waiting for the day when we need to charge them once a week. At that point I'd seriously consider.

I liked the review because it shows me I'm not missing anything. Apple activity tracking is very decent as long as you don't really use it. The problem with the Apple watches is the absurdly short battery life is you really use it in a multi-hour workout, even the ultra isn't even in the game when it comes to battery life. You should be able too use a watch hard for days without recharging, maybe just limiting GPS. What happens when the watch is a few years old ... oh, that is right, you should buy the new watch then. I'm replacing a Garmin watch that is like seven years old because I have to charge it too often, at least I won't waste a lot on money on a watch that won't even make it through one hard use day.

My Gen 0 finally is coming to end of life with battery life (no longer gets full day). I believe Gen 0 was testimony to quality: battery lasted to today, I actively swam with it etc (technically isn’t waterproof). What a positive experience it has been!

I had a series 4 44mm for a year or so then left the apple ecosystem for a few years just came back and got this SE and it’s exactly what I want and need I don’t need all the fancy gadgets and features that I’ll never need

Because of the latest Series 7,8, SE 1, SE 2 are more expensive, I got the Series 5 and my own Series 6 is the final Apple Watch since I will give the Series 5 to my eldest brother to used it.

i just got this for my birthday after never owning an apple watch, or a watch in general ! i really love it so far. as a person that's just getting into fitness and working out, i'm really loving how it motivates me to get up a moving. sure, a fitbit would do the same, but this is really nice !!!

The only real noticeable difference are 3 things. Always on display, thinner bezels and the Ultra wide band

I am curious about durability. It would be nice to get new features without having to spend a fortune on a new Apple Watch. Last year I got the Space Black Titanium Edition Series 7. I was gobsmacked when Apple discontinued it. After seeing the Ultra I understand why, but I’m not feeling that price point for a clunky Dick Tracy watch. So I’m gonna keep this one for a while. I just wanted the rainbow Modular face that’s shown in your thumbnail, and I have that now, so… Yaaaayyy!!!

Hey! How does the Apple Fitness app work? Is it enough to buy Apple Watch and pair it with your smartphone or do I need to pay for some premium subscription to get all the features (sleep cycles, zones, closing activity rings etc.)? Also- can you control Spotify on your wrist or it works for Apple Music only?

I just got mine today. I got it through an insurance program where if I meet certain goals they pay for it. In theory all I’ll have to pay is the 57 bucks for the “deposit” and shipping. I had the option to get any of them, but I couldn’t justify the price for some of the upgrades

does not matter if you make the right decision now if Apple tends to software dumb things later. Like the 13 Mini camera loosing focus capabilities after IOS 15.6 without no other reason that Apple wanted to promote the 3 camera PRO units "new" feature close up focus/macro. While my old SE can still focus in close ups just fine with 1 lens

I think it is better to buy S7 secondhand with warranty. It benefits from bigger screen, same chip (different name :)), and lacks only few things, which one of them - temperature sensor - I dont need b/c I am a male. It is the same as why to buy S14plus if you can have S13pro.

They say the ultra is more expensive and that’s false the Hermes’s or what ever is way more then all the watches lol

When I first got my 44m Apple Watch from Verizon it actually had a keyboard as I remember typing with it while first putting it on anybody know why this feature has somehow diminished?

The only thing I need on a watch (apart from the watchface) is a keyboard to quickly reply to messages instead of using my phone, but Apple decided that I have to spend more than 400€ to do that

For women, dont worry about the temperature sensor not being in the SE 2022, because measuring your temperature from the wrist wont give you reliable temperature data. So don’t expect Series 8 to do it perfect either as it s only reliable to measure temperature from your underarm or mouth. :)

I have no need to upgrade from my Series 4. That said, the Series 8 doesn’t seem like a good deal. I would rather go for the Ultra, or if I didn’t want to spend $799 USD, I would just go for the SE 2.

Series 6 40mm is more tempting in similar price point 🤩... And it gets more feature to be honest😐. Really thought apple would make Series 6 the new se 2 🙄

I’d really love a 7, but have been told by a woman at the Apple Store that the 7s aren’t dropping in price over here (UK) cos of the lousy exchange rate. Watches and iPhones were flying out yesterday. Nearly got myself the new SE, but chickened out at the last minute. “I’ll be back!”

$250 for a smartwatch that is the cheapest? Man Apple has their fans milking their tests. Plenty of things I would rather spend that much money on. To me a smart watch isn't worth it, just carry your phone with you. Mine is always in my pocket.

oh god this is so cringe.. plethora of health features? seriously? I tried to so hard to be sold to buy any of these watch.. but until apple gives me.. 1. good battery life.. 2. fast charging... 3. GPS tracking of my running paths... I am not buying any of these.. its sad that all these videos are so misleading and my 200 eur Garmin does all of these.

Great review and comparison between the two watches. You’re 100% right when you said you sort of do need to compare the two. As someone who has never owned a smart watch, the 2022 SE made the most sense for me. Also, thanks for the laugh with the shining reference.

I decided to buy the SE2 because in Europe it was the best investment (Series 7 wasn’t discounted much) and I love it A LOT! It’s super fast, I compared it with the Series 7 and 8 and the extra 2 sensors (O2 and temperature) and always on display weren’t worth double the price (299 euros for the SE2 vs 399 for the Series 7 vs 499 for the Series 8). If you haven’t tried an Apple Watch, I think you might love it, I initially bought it to use it for fitness tracking and I have found countless opportunities where I use it on the daily. Hope my experience helps some of you!

My 6 still does everything I need but loved this video as some of my sons are wanting watching and this new SE is really perfect for them!

I'm actually glad the SE exists, as it lets people on low incomes test the waters without spending an entire month's disability check on the higher end watches. Even with my vision, (low vision), I'm able to use the SE's accessibility features to access this watch. I have a heart condition, and wish the SE had the ECG capability of the higher end watches, but it at least has the ability to let me know if there's a problem. At my age, the fall detection feature is a must have. Thanks for sharing.

Bought the original SE in 2020. N it holds up well to this day. I’m a big fan of the always on display. I might not upgrade to another SE unless they add that feature.

Couldn’t imagine not having the always on display, ever since I got a series 5. It truly makes the Apple Watch a watch. I find turning off raise to wake and most notifications other than calls, texts and certain apps, and keeping the always on display on gets me better battery life than turning off the AOD but keeping raise to wake on.

I was in the market for an SE2 or Series 8 after finally upgrading from my Series 1 (which is still on watchos6…). I ended up really liking the more premium design of the Apple Watch Series 8 and although the SE2 was enough of an upgrade for me, I feel like I’d always stay wanting more so I ended up buying a preowned Series 7 in starlight in really good condition and 98% battery health for £220! It was an absolute steal and I’d seriously recommend trying to find a really well priced Series 7. I saw it averagely between £240-£290.
