Just got a Series 4 from my wife as a 40th birthday gift, so checking out various reviews (as you do!). I went with the 40mm, the 44mm looked huge on my wrist (I’m 6’2 but have wrists just shy of 7” in diameter. The 40mm looked more like a watch on me. It’s a great device, loving it so far and this review is excellent ... very informative.

One thing that wasn't mentioned is Bluetooth 5.0 vs 4.2. There is a 4x range difference between the two without increasing power consumption. How that realistically compares? I have no idea, it depends on where/how you use a watch. The more obstacles/distance, the more important 5.0 becomes. What I'm really curious to know is how Apple Watch works with wifi connections if your iPhone is also connected to the same network (but can't be reached with Bluetooth). I know that certain features are limited as you lose connections.

My dad said if I get straight a’s he will give me a Apple Watch and I might pick series 4 to make my friend jealous hehehe she has series 3 and she always “flexes” with her vans and Apple Watch and “Gucci perfume” which I think is a lie bc when I said I was lucky my family was really wealthy she got on to saying things about how rich her family is and how she has channel purses and Gucci perfume and her mom is a lawyer for a senior center she won’t earn a lot of money from that then when she got on my nerves I started to brag but my bragging was so true my dad told me “I will give you everything you want even if it means the world” but since I got in trouble in school and I was telling many lies and my grades where bad he said I won’t give you anything only if those c’s become A’s or B’s I will give you anything so yeah and I am ashamed of myself sadly 😔

Great unboxing and review. Sigh! Wish the Apple Watch series 4 could be used totally independent of an iPhone. Nothing wrong with iOS or Android but would like to have the simplicity of a "smartwatch" without owning a separate phone. This one comes close.

I owned series 2 since it launched, now upgrading to series 4 which seemed to be a great choice which also it feels nice to have the ability to select music from the watch again since they removed that feature to use it on Series 3

What I dislike is that Apple updated the older watches and gave it some of the new faces but dumbed it down unnecessarily. That fire watchface for example, doesn't go around the entire corners of the screen, instead it is in the form of a small circle. They really didnt need to do that.

64 bit dual core processor for the Apple Watch? I remember when that was the processor capacity for my family’s household computer lol. I was transferring music from my phone to my Apple Watch series 4 that I bought today, and I was hit with nostalgia, thinking about what a pain in the ass it was to record music to my phone off the radio 😂 None of this fancy wireless stuff
