Apple Watch Series 6 VS Series 5! FULL Comparison! 

I thought software supported was dropped for Series 0 back in Watch OS 5. How were you able to continue using it? Did you stick to an older version of iOS?

Alex Wang I am still using my series 0 too. The older watch OS version still syncs and works just fine with iOS 14.

I couldn’t handle the 0 anymore and got a 4. The speed was turning the watch into mush and battery didn’t last all day anymore.

Damn, you must have had roughly 4 hours of battery life on that thing.

John Haley the battery last all day... There is nothing wrong with my Series 0... I functions well... It’s only sluggish when you try to play songs... It is compatible with iOS 13.6.1

what that tells me is that your a intelligent person and smart and good with your money and get true value out of things you like. I was given the series 3 for free and then brought my self the series 5 from blackmarket for 195.00 and man oh man I love it. I can't see my self spending 400 plus for any watch. unless its jewelry. lol 👍

I got the series two when it came out. Was holding out for water resistant version from the start. Upgraded to the SE and am super happy. WAY faster in apps, and my battery life was starting to suffer after 4 years. I will say that my series 2 held up amazingly considering I work on cars, woodwork, and do TONS of hands on work that Im not it. Other than the few scratches on the face that you could only see when backlight was off, it was perfect. And with their trade in offer, I ended up getting $75 off the price of a new watch for something I wore every day for 4 years.

TylOOOr D it will be good longer than that . The series 1 was good up until just recently that they no longer receive any current updates that the 2-6 now have . So I’m optimistic it will be a long time before that needs to happen .

How is the battery life on the 5 series

That was a major selling point for me, personally, to buy the 5 as my first.

I agree they look like a $10 cheap watch that is why I only like the Stainless Steel models.

Series 5 is officially discontinued by Apple, discounts in the market are just logical. GPS vs cellular is discussed every time an Apple watch is released and not specific to S5 vs S6. Valid point with charging the loops, although I suppose it’s easy enough to unclip on side of the band to charge, which makes putting the watch on faster aswell. Airpods Pro are very expensive but the best noise canceling headphones for the apple ecosystem in that small form factor.

Sprint, now a part of T-Mobile still offers Apple Watch Series 5 models for sale at a discount. Why does Apple still offer Apple Watch Series 3? Air Pods Pro only last on average 3-4 hours. My Bose 700 noise canceling headphones can last up to about 17-18 hours. I predict reviewers will make a big deal about 5G when its released for future iPhone models. I can envision the Solo Loop Watch Band losing its flexible stretch feature over time whereas that will not happen with a traditional Apple Watch Band. Just because something new is offered doesn’t make it the best option.

Series 5 is discontinued and shouldn’t be discussed as a viable alternative to the Series 6 when the review is going to live on long after what is left of the Series 5 is gone. GPS vs. Cellular is a discussion that has been made 4 consecutive years now and is not a new thing consumers have to deal with in the Series 6 choice. Fitness+ is not unique to Series 6 and works with any Apple Watch Series 3 or newer and doesn’t come out till later this year, what in the world would that have to do with a Series 6 review? A mention of the loss of Force Touch might be worth it but watchOS 7 eliminated it on ALL previous watches too, so again not a downside to Series 6. The new bands aren’t the new watch so any mention of them here is tangential to the Series 6, they do have pluses and minuses but I don’t see how they have the least bit of bearing on the new watch and options remain with what you or anyone might be looking for in a watch. I felt the review did a good job of showing just how similar and relatively small an upgrade from Series 5 this watch is while at the same rightfully highlighting it as the best Apple Watch ever made, with certainly some nice new features, and a great upgrade for those on the sidelines the last few years with an older Apple Watch or ready to make their first smartwatch purchase.

David Corsi Hi, Thank you for the information. I haven’t seen any talk about Series 5 being discontinued. Last year, when Series 5 was released, it was announced by Apple that Series 4 will no longer be offered. Again, I haven’t seen that this time. Sprint now a part of T-Mobile is only offering on average a $50 discount off of Series 5. Series 4 buyers last year were offered a $100 average discount. With the economy the way it is, I am perplexed as to why only a $50 average discount? I own a Series 4. I am skeptical about upgrading to a Series 6? I rely on professional reviews such as this one and other reviewers to help me decide if I really need to upgrade? I love all this new technology. Growing up a transitor radio was the big deal especially if it was AM/FM. Thank you for your educational reply.

Should I get a series 5 used +lte for 350$?

I have the series 4 stainless and paid $799.00 at the time. The Apple Watch 6 is basically the same speed as the 5 and the 5 and 4 have the same chip. As for always on I always raise my wrist anyway as i would with a conventional watch. Blood oxygen for me is not a priority and it’s not even FDA approved. So... For some strange reason my battery is still at 94% health so needless to say I’ll be keeping this. The build quality is excellent and the sapphire crystal is important to have! Take care & be safe...

The blood oxygen is a nice gimmick for sports and might help warn of some illnesses, but it’s a gimmick. I’m actually happy they don’t include a charging brick (the usb to watch cable is still included) since I have so many of those laying around it gets annoying, and I like to use a faster one anyways - but it would’ve felt ‘fairer’ if the watch was $5 less for that... As for the straps: Some are rather expensive and some are rightfully so as Apple’s silicone straps are imho the best in the market and if you disagree, third-party straps are readily available.

What they might’ve been getting confused with is the speed difference between watchOS 6 and watchOS 7, as it is true that watchOS 7 feels significantly faster on my Series 5 after updating.

Jacob Frank I also have the 5 which has always seemed fast to me but then I have never looked at any comparisons prior to exploring the 6 . It has been reported the chip in the 6 is 20% faster but in actual usage this was apparently barley noticeable. . I wouldn’t be looking for upgrade till at least the 7 or 8 depending on what they have to offer .

SE has no always on mode so it is trash imo.

It’s the simplest of logic that a well crafted mask can provide or reduce the volume of inhaled viral particles reducing severity of infection. Less replication gives the body an opportunity to take control. Masks have been used for decades in a multitude of fields. It’s asinine for any human alive to assert that “masks don’t work” Only the ignorant can know that masks exist that can block odor and vapors but for some reason can’t block viral particles. I asked an Apple employee for his honest opinion and he told me to stick to the 5 since blood oxygen level is the only new feature and they perform exactly the same (the new chip doesn’t make it noticeably faster at all, like this guy showed us in the vid). So, I’m sticking with the 5

Going from a Series 4 to a Series 5 was a noticeable difference in speed! So going from a 4 to 6 will for sure be clear!

Used my s3 (bought this year) and the battery percentage is already at 96%. Damn, for the S6 i’m gonna keep it for 2-3 years. Hopefully it could stay for 3 years straight since I wanna upgrade other stuffs.

Do u think cellular plays a big play unless ur a doctor on call or something. I mean pretty much nowadays everyone is stuck and on their phones most of the time. With covid lockdown I highly doubt anyone is moving around much unless ur proffesion requires u to be on the move always. Also cellular takes a big chunk out of the battery life.

@@edster8416 well if you have your phone with you, you will still receive notifications without wifi. But if your phone is away I think you won't be receiving notifications. I personally think that gps good enough because it can track workouts, ecg, vo2max without having the use of cellular or a wifi connection

@@edster8416 After having my series 6 for a few days now, I feel that you have to constantly charge it here and there if you want a good battery health. I always keep my watch above 50% Anyway, the good thing is that you don't have to wait for a hour plus to get it charged fully. I charge my watch when its around 50% it takes around 20-30mins for my watch to be charged up to 100%. But I would rather stop charging till 80-90% for a better battery health.

@@edster8416 Battery degrades over time so I charge my phone/watch whenever possible as I don't wanna upgrade too soon. I plan to keep my watch for at least 3 years before upgrading to a newer series

I have a series 6 and I was gutted when I found out I couldn’t get the Nike faces on it. The Apple Watch Nike special edition was the only version that had access to the Nike watch faces. After having it for a few months I installed an update and it included the Nike watch face’s. I’m not sure about older models but I can now say that the Apple Watch Series Series 6 has various different Nike watch face’s to choose from. You can also choose from different colour combinations and there’s a face specifically designed for runners. 😁

@@nancyparker7460 yes I am , I’m always wanted a stainless steel with sapphire crystal , aluminum looks cheap and it’s not resistant, I been waiting for a good deal , this is the first time I see a deal like this , so I pulled the trigger ,there’s no significant difference between 5 and 6 , if you really want it , just get it ! 449 for Stainless steel 44 plus Cellular, worth it! Believe me.

Yep! That’s what I did as well. The main thing that worries me is the the potential uses for the U1 chip that the series 5 lacks, but it’ll hold me over a year or two until I can upgrade.
