Looping and unlooping is actually easier. I always do it when I’m working out. I’m a powerlifter so I put on some wrist wrap when doing bench press and squat so I had to unloop the watch to bring it down my wrist.
Normal Apple Watch was always to small for adult males. This feels way more like a traditional watch when I wear it. Anyone used to traditional watches this is not a big watch.
Yeah I didn’t think i wanted it since i was ok with the se2 but what sold it for me was the size and the durability. I should of never tried the AWU on when i went to the apple store for a return. Once i did try it on my 44mm se2 looked small on me immediately lol. When I’m at work I’m always babying my Apple Watch since I don’t want to damage it but i said F it and bought the ultra a couple days ago. I’m loving the size and now I don’t have to worry too much about babying it at work since its very durable. I did get a tempered glass screen protector for it just to be extra lol. I’m not one of those people that apple advertised this watch for but the size and durability is what i want. Also about the alpine loop, I’m not much of a big fan of it either unfortunately. My AWU came with the white alpine loop and I already know if i use this constantly its going to get dirty so i ordered a midnight ocean band. I tried that on yesterday at the apple store and i liked it. I’ll probably still use the alpine loop since it does stay on my wrist well but I’ll use it for work and working out (gonna use the ocean band the same as well). I’ll try my best to clean it but its whatever.
I had the series 1 when it first came out and had it for many years but eventually the screen cracked. A little bit later on it totally fell out so I just didn’t buy another one until the Ultra. I LOVE it so far and if it’s as durable as they say, I’ll have this forever😂
Apple Watch bands on Amazon… Be careful! They’re cheaper. True. They’re also holding your $800 watch on your wrist. Losing that due to poor stitching would be a damn shame.
then again... the way u have the band is technically upside down... the wrap is supposed to be the other way (it shows in the band description)... anyway, the watch is something to get used to because I can feel it being heavier then the normal watch
You have underrated side button to much in this review Sir. Side button allows for Shortcuts access. This on its own opens way way more possibilities for this button. For example I can now program this button so every time I click it I am sending my current map location to my lady so she knows where am I on my cycling trip. Many many possibilities with it. like you can even press it to Shazam the song. How cool is that.
Trail loop all day long. This band and the silicone one are not that great in my opinion. I bought the 3rd party amazon ones fiest before i commited to one and i went with trail loop
actually with the side button as workout you can free that widget spot for something else instead of workouts you can also use flashlight on the side button among other stuff
I decided to go with the stainless steel 45mm as my upgrade coming from the series 4. The ultra is super nice but using it as a daily watch looks a bit silly, especially if you have formal events or spend your time in business casual environments. I do hope a lot of people get it, so apple can add some features like extra battery life, action button, and the brighter display to the normal lineup. I think we’ll see these features added in the series 10
I can see that...I do think it probably depends on your wrist size. I am going with the Ultra from the series 4 because I like the extra features (bigger/brighter screen, twice the battery, titanium case, etc.). Ultimately I think it comes to a YMMV...very personal decision.
If it wasn’t for the Ultra, the Series 8 would have been one of the worst Apple Watch updates ever. It looks identical to the series 7 minus period tracking and crash detection. There is good reason why no one is talking about the regular series 8 and everyone is talking about the ultra. To each is own I guess but in my personal opinion, It is not worth upgrading to the series 8 unless you are going for the Ultra or regular aluminum case. If you go for the Stainless steel it is a huge waste. For additional $50 you get so much more going for Ultra. I understand that it does not look as classy but, no smartwatch will ever look formal regardless of the case material. You are better off switching to a real watch when going to formal events.
@@Christian-lw5vw I disagree. The Apple Watch isn’t meant to be upgraded every year. People who are disappointed about the series 8 are those who who own the series 7. I’m upgrading from the series 4, and the 8 is a huge upgrade for me. The ultra is nice, but I prefer the design language of the series 8. I hate thick bezels on my devices and besides the battery life (I charge my watch every night) I don’t see the ultra as appealing. The thickness is too much for casual wear. I bought both but ended up returning the ultra
For me I’m keeping my S7. I have no reason to upgrade. I charge my watch every night which doesn’t bother me. And I have an always on display which I don’t really use. And if I wanted the Wayfinder watch face, I would use Infograph as it has the same amount of complications. The Low power mode on the new OS get me through 2 days now.
Yeah I actually prefer the rounded styling. I know the ultra is more resistant to damage, but the flat screen just always made me feel like I was going to crack it on a counter or something
Great video. The band looks and feels more doofus because it’s on the wrong way. It’s not supposed to stick out like that around the adapter. The Action button has very deep functionality when you use it with Apple’s Shortcuts feature. I tried Shortcuts and it’s almost like a developers tool, you can program your watch to do a series of functions you design.
Shortcuts would be really cool. Do you find it triggering on accident? I probably mis-fired that side button 5-10 times a day trying to click in the crown.
@@BryanCaragay sorry, I’m not buying the Ultra, some women can wear it with style, but I couldn’t. I think it’s a fabulous watch and I hope Apple will introduce a smaller version for a refresh soon. Most of the reviewers I’ve seen that mentioned the accidental touches said it doesn’t take long to learn how to avoid it. One guy said he had to turn it off, which I didn’t know you could do and kinda defeats the purpose. Hang in there.
Honest review. I also feel the sweating under the Ultra watch. Never had sweating with my series 5. New sub to the channel. Looking forward to more content.
Brian is so right, it's a big watch and on most normal sized wrists is looks too big and ridiculous. For doing workout activities the watch looks good, but for normal activities, I agree that sticking with the ordinary Apple watch is better.
This has been the only honest review I have seen for the Apple Watch Ultra. Most of the other RU-vid channels out there are not honest when it comes to reviewing new Apple tech like for example IJustine. Reviewers need to be honest like you are about a product because people watching the video are depending on the content to either buy the watch or keep what they currently have. Thank you for the great review.
Good to hear the battery life is as good as they said! I think the battery life is definitely worth the upgrade for me as someone who goes camping & multi-day hikes a lot! One thing my series 6 lack is the battery life, especially when I'm using Activity app while hiking! Almost every time it dies after 10 hours (which I guess for average users it's not too bad) but for me it's extremely annoying to have to charge my watch especially if I'm backpacking or camping because I always have to carry a power bank to charge it!
yeah i saw how the alpine band looks and it looks really puffy at the place where it interfaces with the watch. which is why i chose the trail loop. doesn’t look puffy, and the fit is accurate as it’s velcro.
I agree with you on the trail loop I think it will get much nicer question though how big is your wrist I don’t know what size to get my wrist is about 6.5 inch I don;t know if your wrist is the same but if so send me message I also would probable go get the sports loop more verify THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK
@@robertvail573 my wrist is roughly 6”, i got the smallest size of the trail loop and it looks aesthetically better (than say medium size) because the end of the band (the end with orange loop in the trail loop) doesn’t protrude and just stay in the side.
