For anyone wanting to apply their own vinyl wrap but are having second thoughts on how hard it could be, don't despair, it's easier and more straightforward then it looks.

I wish I could have been even more detailed. It was our first time attempting this and its hard to get good video when we are both working on the project. I need a full-time video person to follow me around. lol

Hi Brooke amazing wrap job on your boat and a awesome job on the video. A friend of mine is a vinyl wrapper and he gave me a couple of tips.The first tip was to spray soapy water all over where the wrap is to go as this helps you to move the vinyl around to get it exactly how you want it then use the smoothing tool plus a aluminium roller to push the soapy water away. Then a hairdryer or heat gun to allow the vinyl to stretch around awkward angles and corners. Sorry about the long winded explanation when he was telling me it didn’t take half as long. Tight lines and be lucky 🍀.

Iain O'halloran, professional vinyl applicators like myself don’t use soapy water. If you know what you’re doing and not afraid of the vinyl you’ll be ok. If you’re new to the game then yes it would probably benefit a novice. If that vinyl that went on that boat was made by 3M then I would have definitely applied the 3M primer before applying the vinyl to the boat. Just a tip for boats and also should be used if vinyl is wrapping around hard curves to help promote the adhesive.

I have heard of horror stories in the past about refurbishing fishing boats. You have cleared up many of those concerns and prove that this is a doable project with patience and attention to detail. Now I just have to find the space. Hmmmm (thinking)...
