So excited for you to be able to compare it long term to how GYEON MOHS EVO held up overtime. We made this one to be a very enjoyable experience installation wise, so glad that shows through. We could get a more pronounced "sweating" effect for wipeoff trigger, BUT this would just require the use of more solvents like those other coatings you mention. We went the route of providing a more durable coating solution. You are correct, Armour Quartz will have a slightly higher contact angle than PRO, and has a slightly higher sliding angle. Most may not notice it, but it's there!
Thanks. I figured that much which makes sense. That explains why the other two coatings sweat so much and yet don’t have the hardness the Quartz has. Also thanks for the feedback on Quartz being more hydrophobic.
I’m hooked on their spray sealant. Going to try more of their stuff. Can you provide links to the cart and step stool please? Or at least brands. Thanks and great video.
@@armourdetailsupplythe ceramic spray sealant is 🔥🔥🔥. It was so slick and glossy I almost poured the rest of the bottle on the car just to see how much more gloss and slickness I could get! 🤣
@@thedirtydetailer24 the spray sealant is a great product. The cart I found at Costco in the bathroom section and the step stool is from harbor freight. www.harborfreight.com/step-stool-working-platform-66911.html
Thank you. I did one not long ago. See this link Armour Detail Supply Armour Glass Application & Water Beading ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xYMYuMWbdgI.html
You are in luck as I will be getting to this very soon. As far as the applicator it is from Autofiber. www.autofiber.com/products/saver-pocket-square-coating-applicator-finger-mitt-with-barrier-layer-5-in-x-5-in-12-pack
Does this company formulate and produce their own product or is it blended by a 3rd party? Seems like a nice coating...curious of longevity. The box is similar to Cerakote. Nice packaging.
Their coatings are not blended by cerakote. That much I can tell you. As far as their maintenance products those are blended by a facility near their shop.
@@DerPic Keep in mind, the type of chemistry plays a large roll in product performance in addition to the "loading level" or solids content of that chemistry.
@@DerPic CarPro is conservative with their durability claims. With good maintenance it will exceed that 2 year claim. uK 3.0 does have high solids as the applicator will harden up. But the hardening of the applicator with Armour Quartz is on another level. Also how soon it starts to set up sets it apart. Armour Detail Supply is correct that the chemistry of a coating is what separates a coating. Cquartz UK 3.0 is still a good coating. Armour Quartz seems to be on another level.
How do you think this compares to something like Gyeon Pure? I imagine it is ahead in terms of slickness from what you said, but how does it compare in terms of gloss and hydrophobicity? Ease of installation? Thanks. Great video!
Thanks. Time will tell how well it performs. I am not sure if I mentioned it in the video but the Equinox had Pure Evo on it for 1.5 years. The hydrophobics were completely dead on the roof even after a decon wash. It was week on the hood and the sides were doing pretty well. I am going back to 2021 but the application from Pure is pretty straight forward. Super long flash time so one could coat more panels at a time. The wipe off is easy and a bit grabby. Their is no comparison in slickness to Armour Quartz. I prefer the application of wipe off of Armour Quartz. Looks are subjective to each individual. Both are quartz based coatings so they both look about the same on silver paint. The true test is a darker vehicle. From a hydrophobic perspective I have to say they are about the same. I enjoyed Pure Evo but after this experience I would probably choose Cquartz UK 3.0 as it seems to perform much better. I won't know how Armour Quartz performs until long term testing. But Armour does have the best hardness of these two other coating I have mentioned so it seems substantial and seems like it will perform for much longer.
@@MikeGDetailing Thank you for taking the time to write that I appreciate it. Do you think that on the roof and hood it could have been the CanCoat failing? IIRC you topped the Pure with Cancoat. Since Cancoat only has durability of 1 year wouldn’t you need to top it up annually if you wanted to keep the properties up?
If I am using a pearl style towel I will follow up with another towel like the CarPro 2Face towel or The Rag Company 365 as they are a bit more plush for that final wipe. The Rag Company Edgeless 300 towel is also another good option for both initial leveling and final wipe off. These are most used towel for coatings.
