In this video I show you how I apply Jflint Mr. Hard Water Protectant Sealant to a window, this can also be used on shower doors or other surfaces. This product is mainly for windows that are consistently wet from showering or a sprinkler system and it will help reduce hard water stains by repelling the water.

One time you said surfactants and glass don't mix but the industry uses dish soap. Why? Another guy said not to use towels that were washed with detergent. Why? If it's not a simple answer can you point me what to look into? I guess it doesn't matter and I'm just being a nerd. Thank you for your vids

Hello, how do you clean hard water spots from the tint side of the glass? I used 0000 steel wool for the untinted side, and it worked great. Ty

I am adverse to adding new factors into window cleaning, so I have to ask if this affects the window-cleaning solution's ability to stay on the window in subsequent cleans. Thanks!

My take away is that you wouldn't do it to every window. It's the type of thing you'd use on a single basement window that gets hit by a sprinkler regularly. Or, in my case I know this one neighborhood that gets a single 2 inch strip of hard water on the bottom of their windows because of rain bouncing off the concrete sills so you'd only apply it to that part of the glass.

Hey SteveO I have a question I can’t find the answer to anywhere online. I cleaned the inside of a breakfast diner the other day using just dawn dish soap. The windows looked great when I left, I got a call from the owner the next day that the windows have streaks all over them. I arrived at the restaurant and she wasn’t kidding, they appeared somehow over a day and looked terrible? Do you know how this would happen? It was a hot day but otherwise nothing unusual…

Could be a lot of reasons, windows could be very greasy and you may need to reclean with a high grade degreaser.

So it doesn’t remove the water stains it’s just a sealant? Years ago I used liquid carnuba car wax on glass, very similar results, very same process bar the wet microfibre just used a dry polishing cloth to buff the glass, I’ve also used just normal car wax autoglm on glass and achieved great results with great water repellent. This stuff seems mad expensive and would be a hard sell to customers but it is what it is 👍🏻
