Until sa time ni former president arroyo, I still felt quality education was still a priority. High school pa ako noon. Daming matatalino. Noon pag matalino ka, sikat ka. Daming competent graduates. Salang sala ang mga students noon. Which means Philippines was producing best of the best. Daming nagbago. Puro Kpop na lang naririnig ko sa mga younger generations ngaun
I think we should not compare learners coming from different generations. Every year, we are always challenged to upgrade our education system because of the rapid of changes of technology. Dati basta magaling ka sa math, matalino ka na. Pero ngayun, dapat magaling ka rin sa computer. Kung pwd nga, magaling ka rin magcode at an early age. Scientific and economic concepts are challenged. Business models changes rapidly. Learners today are stressed and pressured and this is not just because of how the government education system works. This is more of a natural phenomenon coming from rapid evolution of how we do things. Thats why we have concepts about "life long learners" and continuous improvement. The quality of education should stem from the learners heart for learning. I think we have to teach them at an early age to learn how to self study, be curious and be brave enough to explore their imagination. Of course, with the right guidance from the adults. If they love Kpop, then let them be. Maybe they can find inspiration from kpop songs and one day they will compose their own songs and even make money out of it.
Pero if at this level we judge them as less just because we hear them speak about kpop then maybe something is wrong with us not them. Do you love studying? If you do, then take a step to help them enjoy studying. If you don't, then you should understand why.
