So, the effects of being nice, civil, respectful, open and positive is something that you learned in RESEARCH?!? Knowing the sequence of classes and options and knowing the various resources on campus, and delivering them in a positive manner - i.e. knowing your job and knowing how to help students, having empathy and helping students find their own solutions and then - gasp - creating a plan towards the achievement of student dreams and then helping them celebrate wins and support them and their efforts when they encounter obstacles IS A GOOD IDEA? You need peer reviewed research to discover those simple human truths that anyone sitting in an institution of higher learning knew when they were in middle school! Wow! Did you think of that all by yourself? I guess "your" model of advising is much cuter - doesn't everybody fancy alliteration?
