Watch out Cory, someone's after your job as presenter, brilliant job Reuben, nice to see you growing in confidence, great video guys, keep up the good work.
Great to see Reuben progressing, he has a great attitude and will go far. Too often electrical companies treat their apprentices like crap in my opinion, great to see a company like Artisan who are not like that at all. With all due respect to Cory I really like seeing Reuben work with other electricians like John as you see him relax a bit more knowing that his dad’s not watching over him 😄 Not that Cory is intimidating but you are naturally going to feel more uncomfortable when it is someone you know personally judging your work. That being said I would love to see the apprentice swap happen with Nick Bundy as it would be great to see how Reuben and Adam get on working with someone who works completely differently to what they’re used to. Keep up the great work
@@artisanelectrics JUST LOOK AT ALL THOSE FIBRES IN THE AIR OF LOFT .. 🫁 only get them once in a lifetime. PPE IS A MUST AND SHOULD BE MANDATORY. JORDAN U GOT TO PROMOTE H&S IM SURE MASKS ARE ON YOUR RAMS HOPE THEY ARNT IGNORING RAMS AS THEY ARE DONR FOR A REASON !!!
Great job both of you and Ruben is a natural in front of the camera. Also you might have had a bit of good luck getting the job, but it's your hard work, commitment, enthusiasm and your willingness to learn that keeps you in the job. Jordan is also lucky to have such a good future asset for his company. Well done.
These are just so good & it's great to see respect being shown to both apprentice & trainer. One piece of advice. Wear your respirator whenever you go into lofts with such loose insulation. You dont want those fibers going into your lungs.
Nice job as always , would it have been possible to run the cable next to or even behind the down pipe so the cable wouldn’t stand out as much on the white wall ?
I kind of think that water pipes and electrical cables shouldn’t be deliberately brought too close together, even if it is the outside and even if the electrics are supposed to be waterproof.
John will get the job of re-certifying Luke for his angle drilling certificate. He did an outstanding job. He drilled up from outside as well! Water will be much harder to run up the hole! 😁👍
Awesome videos, im 31 now, I absolutely hated my apprenticeship due to my selfish narcisistic employer, which actually lead me to not enjoy electrical work at all, I quit electrics a year go and it felt so good, but I thoroughly enjoy watching you boys do it lol, thanks for the content!
Reuben has a seriously bright💡future ahead of him & I have to say, Jordan you have a cracking team of electricians & conversely, they have an awesome boss, I see nothing but great things for this company, it's going from strength to strength. Work safe people. 🔌⚡🎇

Jordan has done really well with Reuben and all the guys seem to be happy which is great to see... Reuben is very lucky to have the people around him that he does.. I think maybe doing a bit more industrial might round him out a bit but I think that is often the problem for all apprentices..
Sometimes in life I wasn’t sure if having a child at 7 years old was a bad decision, but seeing videos like this, makes me very happy and proud that I’ve done him well - Cory
What a great team you make guys. Nice to see more of John, seems a cheerful chappie. Reuben you really are a fine young man, so refreshing to see such maturity in one so young. Love your sense of humour, that little twinkle in your eye is priceless. Great presenting job and good advice you gave to that fourteen year old, very impressive. Glad to know you're planning on sticking with Artisan, it's a no-brainer really isn't it? 👍👏
Love this video. Even with the John wearing proper PPE. Rubes has grown from strength to strength. Unluckily I live in Kent but would love to give all my projects to Artisan 👍🏼
I love how your given all day for this many companies I’ve worked for would give you 8-12 to do this and obviously it would be rushed and not as good 👍
Lovely job. You measured from the edge of the wall for cable running down the wall and it looked fine. If the gutter downpipe hadn't been parallel to the edge of the wall, the cable wouldn't have been parallel to the downpipe and it would have looked bad. As it was, it was fine.
Well done Ruben, your confidence is shining through wee man, I’ve no doubt what so ever that you will pass your college (you fkn better do 😂), I couldn’t comment on the install as it’s trains I fix so EV charger install not my specialty, stick in learn lots Ruben, were all behind you
Nice job as always and well done Reuben, those clips are a new take on buckle clips i used as an apprentice 40+ years ago those look a lot easier to use.
Only one thing I noted when Reuben was wiring up the Zappy, and as it wasn't even live it's more of a nitpick than anything, I suppose, but I thought I'd mention it and see if other people follow this rule. I was always taught to connect the ground first, then the neutral, then the live, in that order, as that's the safest way to work. When disconnecting do the opposite, obviously - live first, then neutral, then ground. Does anyone else follow that rule? It seems like a little thing, but I suppose it really could save your life. Regardless, love to see Reuben developing and becoming more confident! Awesome job nurturing his skills Artisan.
Yeah when I was an early days apprentice i terminated the active first to get it tucked away and then I was shown the way you do it by one of the best sparkys I’ve worked with and the way he explained why he does it that way made sense to me so I got into the habit, like you said if youre terminating the load end first not such a biggy but earth first so it’s earthed then the neutral because particularly these days some electronics, equipment etc must have that return path then the active last
Great work John and Reuben - definitely a chip off the old block when it comes to presenting skills too 😂 Hopefully the apprentice-swap for a day is in the works and of course Jordan owes the team that trip to Hawaii 😎😜
Great Job Reuben, if there’s one thing I’d pick out, and maybe it’s just personal preference but I’d never run cables above the terminal and back, god forbid and water did get in, it’s just going to run down into the terminal. But other than great work, it’s amazing to see how far you’ve come!! Keep smashing it!
Gotta leave some extra length though, when doing a first installation, to make life easier for the next bloke. And I don’t think there’s a neater way to do so, unless maybe a coil underneath. If there’s literal falling water dropping through the charger case and hitting those coils I don’t think a few drops on the terminals are ever going to be the main concern.
Possibly a little old school for Ruben, but consider getting a good old-fashioned Plum Bop, no messy chalk lines, no batteries required, and always works on drops.
Brilliant job guys! So cool to see Reuben doing all this given the relatively short time he’s been on the team. Question: Is there a reg against running the cable fully behind or at least alongside the drain pipe? Just thinking it would be such an easy way to make it invisible all the way down, until it loops back up to the Zappi.
I’m keen to get a Zappi ⚡️ as I like the App and integration, but wish it had wired network capability like the old Anderson and I think the hypervolt?
Did someone like pre measure the cable length or how did you cut it to size? and if you didnt measure it, why dont you use cable reels and cut it to length every time?
I’m neither in the trade or a home DIY electrician but I absolutely love your content. It’s fascinating! If I wasn’t in my current field of work I’d definitely consider exploring being an electrician. How does somebody join the trade outside of the college/apprenticeship route?
@@adamsharp201 Unfortunately not an option for me these days. Maybe when I was 16-19. Reading your comments makes me laugh Adam. You seem to think anyone re-training into your field is a negative.
Great job,. But.... Would you not have run the cable on the right hand side of the house, and even fit the charging point on the right too ? Also a spur on for the Eddie would be best practice, and why not fit and commission the Harvey? Did the customer say their well capable ? Five stars fantastic job
Why arent you leaving the earth longer then L1 and N? Atleast in Finland we always leave earth a bit longer so if it wud happen that the capel get pulled, earth is the last one to get ripped out
Allows interesting to watch your videos. Professional staff doing very professional work. However there are two things that I find unusual and also seem somewhat dangerous to me when I consider the manner services are wired up in most residences in New South Wales. Firstly, Is it standard for your consumer units to be placed inside the building, in positions that seem somewhat ridiculous and in inconvenient places to access for them to be worked on? Secondly, If the above is standard, How are you not driven insane by the apparent craziness and How do you disconnect the service in an emergency if you cannot gain access to the consumer unit?
Genuine question (not a sparky), why do you terminate in the charger when you need to carry out IR and R1+R2 tests first, does that not mean having to then remove them again and then refit after testing?
Remember, you’re seeing a highly edited video. Time, sequence, and performance are the interpretation of the editor. The Artisan teams have become very good at working as efficiently as possible while the raw footage is being recorded.
You're not a sparky!!! You seem to be knowledgeable on dead tests. IR test the cable should be disconnected at the charger due to possible damage but R1 and R2 can be tested with the circuit fully connected mate.
