Monkey Man, despite some flaws, is still a mesmerising feature directorial debut for Dev Patel. He clearly has a potential as a filmmaker for his future 🙌
I knew April would easily be the best month of the year but it exceeded my expectations. Challengers, Civil War, Abigail, and Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare are all top 5 of the year for me
Always looking forward to these monthly videos Austin! I like how you use the tierlist and talk about the movies not in order of the tiers. Keeps it fresh, well done!
The budget for Hundreds of Beavers was around $150,000. With what they're able to achieve with such a shoe string budegt, I genuinely think it's more impressive then Dune. Hundreds of Beavers is currently my favorite movie of the year! Love it so much and I'm glad you checked it out!
I legit stood up and cheered when I saw your ranking of Civil War. Not only did I think it was expertly done, and every bit as terrifying as you would expect a movie like this to be, but I just can't stop thinking about it. And that to me is truly the mark of a great film.
From what I saw, I’d go: 6. Woody Woodpecker Goes To Camp 4/10 - It’s just bad. I wish my fam would pick something better to watch most movie nights. 5. Rebel Moon Part 2 5/10 - Did not like Part 1, and Part 2 wasn’t really any better for me. Zack Snyder just isn’t someone I click with (most of the time). 4. Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths Part Two 6/10 - Another decent DC animated film, not one of the better ones. 3. Monkey Man 7.5/10 - Did not love it, but I enjoyed it, especially the action. 2. Civil War 8.5/10 - Great overall, one of the most thrilling films I’ve seen in some time. A favorite of the year for me so far. 1. SPYxFAMILY Code: White 9/10 - SPYxFAMILY is among my favorite animes/mangas, and as a massive fan, I really enjoyed it. My 2nd favorite movie of the year so far, only behind Dune Part II. I think if I give it a few more watches, I might just put it over Dune for me personally.

I watched very few in April 1) Poor Things 2) Article 370 (Best Bollywood movie of 2024 so far) 3) Sleep 2023 (Korean Horror movie) 4) Late Night With The Devil 5) Abigail
Everything I saw in April, ranked from worst to best: The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare Wicked Little Letters Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire Challengers The Long Game Civil War (this now takes my favorite movie so far this year)
Rebel Moon movies are so bad to the fact that Zack Snyder want to make 6 of these (possibly even more) is the most laughable thing that he has ever said. Good luck to that, good luck to more slow motions 😂😂
Saw monkey man 3 times in cinemas. Only movie I thought had soul. Yesterday I walked out of the theater 1hr into the movie while watching the fall guy.

Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver (5/10 but after sitting on it for a while that feels like way too much) I also saw The Fall Guy but I’ll save that for May. Unfortunately The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare didn’t get released here so I’m waiting for VOD.
Unsung Heroes and The Long Game are good based on real life stories that are really inspirational. I really enjoyed Boy Kills World. For Abigail, the last part with Dan Stevens bad guy was too long and disappointing.

This is my favorite time of the month... when Austin ranks his movies from the month 😁 April was such a great time for film!!!! I do have to say though, you are not giving Problemista enough credit... I found that movie so powerful in such unexpected ways. I hope more people discover it. Amazing video my friend!
The fact that he is debating challenges is better than Dune 2 just shows the quality of movies that are out recently and how he gets obsessed with a film very easily
