It works on HU-605! The only difference is that it says NEWS instead of SCAN on the button in the first step (5 min unlock). Thanks for a very good video!
Thankyou Rick. 615 just had to hold the arrow key and power up to get the code. Got the car without a code and had to rig auxiliary power when the battery was changed. Now have the code as backup, thanks again.
Off being displayed is a delay where it will have to sit till the timer runs out. Usually with key on for possibly 20 minutes then off should go away. It’s happened with too many wrong codes being entered
Can you explain how to do this from a newer Volvo radio? 2000 C70. The dealer can't tell me what my code is based off the vin as I believe the radio has been swapped out with the same model but different serial. The Volvo help was no help at all. Sent them pictures of the metal etched serial number and of the radio labels but they can't seem to to help.
Very nice! Is it possible to do this with other Volvo radio models, such as the SC-805. I almost bought one for my Volvo, but when I asked the seller for the radio code, he told me that he didn't know the code, because the car where the radio originally came from, was already dismantled. I liked that radio anyway, because despite of the years, it has in very good condition. Thanks in advance!
The 805 probably does have a similar diagnostic menu. The display format is probably different. But I would think the code would probably be displayed in a somewhat same way. Just not positive about that model. Volvo has so many different radios out there but most of them have had this option to get into the code I’m sure the newer units are much different
How I should proper connect HU-655 radio to power supply (without a car)? I connect BATT to 12V= and GND to (-) and radio not working... only work CD loading/unloading. Display black, disk not work. This is my own radio from V40 2004. I have a code. Anybody help me if I wrong connect?
Sounds if there is a timer running because too many wrong tries. Radio will have to sit key on till the time runs out then try the procedure after the timer is done
@@rick601a I did it, I followed the procedure step by step, at the end I disconnected and connected again, but it didn't work. I also left the switch in step II, more than two hours, but it didn't work either.
