I’ve been waiting for a response for the federal government for over two years! I’ve written them twice and they just respond that they’ll get to it when they get to it.

I’m already approved for the SAVE plan, left school around 2019. Do I need to apply?

Do you know if the DoE “looks through” a previously consolidated direct loan (2012) to the earliest date repayment started on the loans that were originally consolidated (2005)? Thx!

I was on the Income based- driven for about 8 years, now. My loan servicer was the only ones I could get in touch with. I cslled them 3 times, tonight. The second one said to get the SAVE plan and consolidate them before midnight on April 30, 2024. Did I pick the wrong plan for my direct loans?

The April 30 deadline was extended to June 30. You’d have to do a strategy session with us about what plan to select, tips to reduce your SAVE or other plan payment and what to expect etc?

Sallie Mae is no longer considered a government loan servicer but private. Just realized that. Will one be able to transfer the loan to a government loan by April 30th and soon after graduate May 2025?

i looked into this too - the only commercial loans you can consolidate are Commercial FFEL loans. If you have Sallie Mae loans currently that means they are private loans and do not qualify to consolidate since its private and not under the federal govnt. I just did my consolidated my federal loans w/out the sallie mae loan since I cant include that one.. I may have to move the sallie mae to another private company with a lower rate and would need good credit for that :(

It is May 1, 2024. April 30 was yesterday. How is this relevant if the deadline is already missed?

If you have loans from early 2000's and some from after 2010(With Department of education) should someone consolidation all loans or only the old ones?
