This last year has been so crazy. I am hoping things get back to normal soon (hopefully in May). I am excited to get back to my regular routine. How is your garden doing?

@littlerootsranch how did your mammoth sunflowers ad beans do last year? I'm in the process of planting them together and can't seem to find an update. ❤ Love your channel!

I just moved into a new house and i had resigned to the fact that maybe i wouldn't be able to have a garden beyond containers this year. I live in oregon and i just got officially moved in today and i have so much beautiful space to work with but i have to break out the rototiller and transfer my raised beds and i question if i have time! I was actually relieved to see that you are just starting seeds and seem confident. This is my second year and last year turned out pretty good so im worried ill blow it this year 😂 i follow you religiously because i know that we share simular climates and you clearly know what your doing but you also love to experiment and create!

Nice to hear someone else growing broccolini or sprouting broccoli! We first tried it last year and maybe planted it too late since it kept wanting to bolt. We live on Camano Island and I just didn't think it was so warm to have created bolting. Nevertheless, we are trying it again this year. How has your success been with it? Nice to see your hot house set up. I can't believe how hot they actually can get, even in our climate. Our greenhouse will easily get 30-40 degrees above outside temperatures when the sun is out. It also has the roof vents that open, but often that is still not enough to cool it down significantly. We do start the cooler season crop seeds in the greenhouse, but just have to make sure to water quite regularly. We actually were quite successful growing poblano peppers in grow bags in the greenhouse last year. Obviously, they love warm weather, but some summer days in the greenhouse it was easily over 100 degrees. Cheers!

Wonderful setup thank you so much for sharing! The best thing about the raised beds is the dry out faster in spring so you can plant earlier and things dont drown & rot in our rain. I'm in the Oregon City Beavercreek area almost Mulino. Those Sunny days were sure nice it felt like June, now back to rain.

I planted 5 Arp Rosemary (hardy in zone 6B) in Bellingham, WA and 2 look excellent, 2 survived and one seems to have succumbed. No winter protection and very deer resistant, I'm planting more Arp Rosemary this year.

Overwintering rosemary is a goal of mine too! I also tried a cold hardy variety one year but it died 😂 Mine survived this year, I put it in the ground under the overhang of the porch roof. I think its the winter wet that kills it. I'm fairly cold here south of olypmpics since I'm inland and higher elevation. Everything looks great! Berries are so good!

Everyone tells me they are so easy to overwinter but I think they have larger established ones from before our winters started getting so cold. 😂 I do think the wetness has something to do with it. I will need to build little tables to put over them. I am honestly that committed. lol.

Love your videos. Thanks so much! I'm on Vashon Island and get so much inspiration from you. Do you have any recommendations regarding voles? This every spring is a season of hope, but sooner or later the voles come through and wipe me out. Have you had this problem? Any and all thoughts are much appreciated! p.s. I managed to get some rosemary going from a piece a neighbor brought from the grocery store. To my surprise, it made it through the winter, so we'll see what happens.

How are you doing the leeks again, do just leave hole an leek in bottom of it? Sure hope everything is getting better an you'll be home soon. Love your raised beds and you pick options

Yes, I did a hike about 6 inches deep (I used a wooden fence pole but a hand trowel works too). Then I just slip the keeps into the holes. Initially the leeks barely show or sometimes don’t show at all. With time, the reach for the sun and the holes slightly fill in naturally with the wind and rain. Then you end up with a large blanched leek shank. ❤️

Forgot to mention, that we lost a number of shrubs and small trees this past winter so the Arp Rosemary without protection did very well.

@@littlerootsranch I did. I went to the nursery I believe it's called orchard something or another headed towards camano Island over on the right hand side before you get to the bridge. I bought a cool little variegated pink lemon tree that I'm so happy to have

Hi kristi! Oh wow, I'm so sorry to hear about your house. Enjoyed your tour and I love the new greenhouse! I have a small side of the house sunroom where I start all my seedlings. Bought some new lights and really like them. Purple sprouting broccoli will be new for me this year as well as some new-to-me tomato varieties. It's been a blast to get outside and work again! 🌱🌼 Your friend in Lynnwood.
