She was not a lead animator. She worked at Spumco, yes, but none of those artists animated on the show. Like all American animation made post 1970, it was animated in other countries, most of them in Asia. . - trevor.
@@TheLooneyTunesCritic You're confusing the process of animating a cartoon with inking & painting of cels, which is what's outsourced overseas. The actual animation is done in-house by the studio or production company. I do stand corrected however. According to her IMDB page. she was a layout artist for Spumco, not an animator. She also collaborated with Jack White of The White Stripes illustrating a children's book he wrote called "We Are Going To Be Friends".
Wow I would have loved to have seen this live. I only caught the end of her set once in SF. Think she was opening for Air. Also I miss this store. This and No Life are greatly missed when I travel down to LA.
April March fans: if you haven't checked it out, her _April March Sings Along With The Makers_ shows the versatility of this crazily talented person. I know garage punk isn't everyone's jam but it is well worth it.
But there is no praising comment from you! April March & The Makers - Sometimes Sometimes ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xZMRViYrKrs.html By the way, my comment is this: "April March is one of those girls who is totally underrated."
Unfortunately, Aron's Records closed 10 years after April March's performance. By the way, there is also an English-Franco version of this song with "Chick Habit"! The French original is by France Gall - Laisse tomber les filles of 1964! But April March did it well! She was really pretty then! As an American girl, she looked French! :)
So is this girl singer around now in 2024 or what? This sounds like 1960's music, sort of. These was also a band called "An April March" from Canada in the 90's.
April March is still around -- she put out an album last year (2023). This is a cover of the song, Laisse Tomber les Filles, written by Serge Gainsbourg and sung by France Gall in 1964. This video was probably recorded some time around 1996-97.
