God i love her!!!! She is so stinking adorable!! We went to DC over weekend and every shop we went into we were like "look its a stuffed April!!! Love all the staff and everyone involved with these animals!! Great work! Bless you all!

I been watching Since Friday..lol..I have my lifestream window open while I work...I love giraffes..I think their lashes are adorable..my favorite animal and my spirit animal.
I think April is deliberately holding out until April 1, for the personal joke aspect. Maybe putting her own name in the pot for the baby. - April Fools. lol
I was just on the live cam, and she looks like she's in labor! She's laying down, restless, looking out the window for Oliver, and licking herself! I think she's in labor by the movements of her tummy, too!
I am beginning to think maybe something is wrong. First, they said she got pregnant in Oct. 2015. At 15 months that puts the baby due in JAN.2017. Nov. 2015, puts it FEB. 2017. Dec. 2015, puts it March 2017. So even saying, we are no sure when she got pregnant, something is very wrong. I worry for April and her baby. They stated in Feb. 2017 she was due anytime. So by the 15 month calendar, she was all ready over due. Hope everything goes well for you April. I will keep checking on you and your baby. If it is a BOY, I like RASCAL!! for his name.
she was having contractions and doing some pushing last night but she is really restless today and she looks like she is in pain when the contractions are coming this afternoon..
Their (Animal Adventure Park) updates about this giraffe via FB are so dang full of it. I read one this morning that said her behavior has changed and she's not eating her grain, but only carrots. Meanwhile, I'm watching this damn giraffe shove her face full of grain via the live feed.... I just can't tell if I'm being played, or if the staff and veterinarian are morons and ignorant to their own animal stock.
It does feel like they're trying to get as much money out of it as possible. The merchandise store, the chat where you need to pay to get your question answered, the Toys R Us sponsorship, the paid app.. And indeed all those facebook updates. They keep saying she's really close so more people watch the stream, but that baby STILL has not been born. They say she's 15 months pregnant now, but they also thought she was already 15 months pregnant months ago. Their vet can't tell the difference between a 12 month pregnancy and a 15 month pregnancy? I'm kinda fed up with it tbh.
I had no idea they were actually getting money out of this! Now the whole Toys R US logo makes sense... I came into this thing very late, but I agree with you. I'm also fed up and over it!
it's for money...now you need to pay to get updates.... theyre cutting the camera only 5 days after after weve been watching for 2months+...but people who pay can get updates
You don't need to pay to get your question answered, I was on last night and I asked a question without paying and it got answered. Now, I can get why people are frustrated.. They have to keep April in the forefront of everyone's minds so they keep watching, so the owners keep being like, "Almost time! Almost time!"
I want to know why they are not giving Oliver any attention, I do know this because I have been watching this non-stop for 2 weeks. Sometimes even till 12:30 a.m. They keep giving April lettuce and carrots and Oliver gets 'some' when the helper is in April's pen though the fence to him. Unfortunately though, April ends up getting most all of them because she is going after them while the girl is holding them behind her back, but she still ends up giving them all to April. Then right after she gets them when she goes to the cam and feeds april more!! Oliver needs more space, all he does all day is walk around in circles, when he wants to run, he only can jump up in the air for there is no where to run!!!
Oliver is getting love & the good food too. The camera is focused on April stall. We can't see all that is happening on Oliver's side. If you watch some of the interviews in the giraffe barn we find out upstairs is where their large turtles live. You can get a better perspective of where feeders are for grain & alfalfa, the water area. While the people are talking I'm looking behind & around them to see what we don't see with the angel they have the cam set up.
She is definitely pregnant but they should not continue to say "today" could be the day, don't stop watching ....this has been said nearly every day in attempt to keep those naysayers from spewing their negative attitudes. There are going to be those who just troll the boards and bring their ugliness....However, it doesn't help when they said today especially, that she's most likely going to go today or tomorrow 24 or 48 hours...so keep watching! I think they are setting themselves up for more disappointment and negative comments....No one really knows when this giraffe will in fact go into labor...so just a "wait-n-see" attitude really is the best....that and lots of patience...
I don't like animals in captivity but this park is doing the right thing, because giraffes are becoming extinct thanks to predators and humans(for the most part) They are beautiful animals and thumbs up for this park we will continue enjoying these giraffes.
Does anyone know when April SLEEPS?!! I've never seen her sleep! She only lies down for a short time and still stays awake. I know horses and elephants can sleep standing up, but April appears to always be moving. I also noticed Oliver has all his lights turned off at night. But poor April has the bright light on. I think she should have infrared lights and cameras on, so she can rest properly. Anyone know? thanks
They said the surface is softer than the ground, but when they see hooves pop out, they will rush in and add more padding. But remember, in the wild it's all on hard ground. No padding available.
Thanks for your reply...Yes I read that a certain number of calves dont survive the drop in the wild too, so im glad there is a contingency for it there...i just assumed the "stalls" were concrete floored for cleaning?...what IS the surface?
They leave her door open, she chooses wether she wants to or not, they can't force her, and they can't let her out at the same time as Oliver because he is a bull and is still young. He is only interested in one thing, making babies.
I wish they'd do a story about how AAP is now leaving exclusive content to those that paid five dollars but didn't do a darn thing for those that donated hundreds. And before someone tells me I got to watch for free, all of us who've watched their RU-vid has brought them in even more thousands if not a hundred and some thousand dollars from our RU-vid hits and views. Plus AAP asked its viewers to appeal to RU-vid to put the feed back up when it was taken down, which we all did but now they've got their money, the birth is close, they're being snarky to people who helped make them a household name while letting people on their page openly bash any and everyone including the elderly and disabled, for even asking a simple question. I love April, hate she's turned into nothing but a cash cow with dollar signs floating around Jordan's head. I'm also disappointed he went back on his word about the gender reveal and has now decided to only announce it first to the super loyal fans who paid five dollars, but if you donated five hundred the day before the alert system came out then you were just screwed!
We, as human beings=top of the food chain; Are fundamentally responsible to shepherd any and all animals on this earth!! We have devastated way too many species for our own gain in the past. So these people taking care of animals that would otherwise be in danger or possible extinction is what is needed.....the more the better.
The Today can bite the big one they had no right laughing and making fun of April.She will have her BABY WHEN THE BABY IS READY TO MAKE HER/HIS GRAND ENTRANCE, And No Sooner,ITS NOT ANY DAM DIFFERENCE IF THEY WERE WAITING ON A CHILD OF THEIRS POP OUT.THEY THINK ITS SO DAM FUNNY.MAKE ME SICK,LET ALL OF US KNOW WHEN ONE OF YOU ARE PREGNANT SO WE CAN LAUGH OUR ASSES OFF AT YOU.
