I got my RS660 for $8,044.37 at 1 year old. For that price there is absolutely no way I would buy the 8R or the daytona. But if I was buying new, I could understand why people would get the 8R. The daytona dash is way too outdated for me personally.
Great to see some local content and comparisons. I test rode 2 of the three, missing out on the Triumph...for now. That Italian is a special 'little' bike, especially if you are looking to spend time on the track.
I have 8r in yellow. I love it for what it is. I would go Aprilia route, but quite concerned that it'd spend more time in the garage than on road. I wanna keep mine atleast for 5 years.
I have 2x 660 since 2020 and zero point zero issues! But don’t change exhaust without mapping. I have 1000x more fun whit this bikes than the heavy 8R (Naked bike with Farring) it is too heavy and no emotion 🫥 Aprilia optic is 😍 and the sound ❤️ Is is light and easy to drive.
I mean Aprillia Launched the RS660 with a known to them major engine issue. It's not that I don't trust the reliability of the bike itself (although it does tend to score low in consumer reliability reporting), it's that I don't trust the integrity of the brand to sort it out when it does go wrong.
Dude you knocked it out the park, I loved this format. And thanks for the comparison. I have a 2008 Triumph Tiger 1050 and love the triple but find it a bit heavy for my average 5 ft 9 frame...but been wanting to get on a test ride with the Daytona 660... I was just concerned with front end weird handling and no feedback complaints at launch... But maybe they have worked it out. Greetings from North Carolina.
Thank you! Super helpful comparison. I've been benchmarking every bike against the rs660. Love the spec but don't trust the machine especially at the price. Already seemed promising so gsx8r for me 🤙
Good review covering all the Bikes. For reliability, parts, dealer network, the Suzuki for sure, the Triumph just needs more, better brakes, less budget looks, better TFT, the Aprilia good I'm sure, but with sketchy reliability, Garbage Dealer network, and did I mention reliability ??
Got 13k miles on my 8R and absolutely love it. Wish there was an Aprillia dealer in my state so i could compare. Appreciate the content and your time. Ride safe ya'll ✌🏼
8R is much to heavy an the engine boring for this category. The sound is so boring 🥱 RS660 is higher level then 8R It is easy too drive and more Emotion and Sound 😍 8S is a naked Bike with farring.
@@sebastian8294each brand or bike has it's cons, yeah the Suzuki is slightly heavy, I have ridden one it is certainly not boring, and in many ways nakeds can be better bikes so weird if are you somehow implying being related to a naked a bad thing for street bike, tweaking sound is as easy as tweaking the air box or end can ... meanwhile Aprillia is notoriously unreliable with lackluster dealer support, which you pay premium for and it's less comfortable. Everyone's priorities are different and it is extremely immature to be a dick about it.
@@101BadBreath oh mimi mimi 😭 I drive a Suzuki... It's a naked bike camouflaged with a fairing. Not more! This is never a sport bike, just the seating position and the character of the engine that immediately runs out of breath. A boring bike in the long run with cheap components. Ok there is one Magazine that took 50000mils Test after 3 years zero problems but Aprilia always sucks 🤣 Have fun with the boring sound, zero emotions and the heavy bike. I have no argument so Aprilia must be shit and unreliable and Suzuki never breaks Have you ever had an Aprilia to be able to say that? I've just had 2x Aprilia 660 since 2020 and zero point zero problems at 40000miles
@@captain_midlife I've just seen one in the new matt orange colour. It really looks awesome, maybe even better than the red or yellow of the rs but that's just my opinion.
You’re not noticing the power because you aren’t revving the bikes out and the Suzuki has a much larger engine so will have a stronger bottom end and midrange
I hate with the triumph that you have all of that space in the cockpit where you can see the road with the Suzuki and the Aprilla you don’t have none of that. Just makes it feel like the triumph is way more budget than the other two bikes.
While I like alu style triple clamp on the RS 660 the GSX has super cool modern looking cockpit. The Triumph definitely feels like a bit of let down in this department, but it's built to a price and have invested a lot in buffing that engine over the Tiger and Trident.
@@101BadBreath I agree. Here in the US the triumph is slightly more then the gsx8r. I’m a huge triumph fan, I just feel this Daytona 660 was a huge let down.
@@Bluecollarguy87 I don't feel like it's a huge let down, I just feel like they had other priorities than the cockpit experience, we as consumers end up with more choice and that's a win for us - 2022 R7 60th Anniversary and 2008 Triumph Tiger 1050 owner.
The Triumph feels like a girls bike. Not trying to throw shade on any guys that have one, but it seems more setup for smaller riders who like the Triumph brand. So his and hers Triumphs would be a 765 and a 660.
these 3 bikes are dog 💩 a ten year old supersport 600 is literally better in every single way apart from the dash not to mention parrallel twins are horrible engines
Panigale and RS660 are 2 completely different bikes with absolutely nothing in common. If you are looking to buy a bike like a Panigale, RS660 is not on your radar and vice versa.
To be fair the Daytona is a parts bin special, having said that I always like the Suzuki, I think however it could be come very bland very quickly. I'd have to choose the rs660, the street cred alone is worth the extra money
Is it? Modified frame yes, very heavily modified engine, completely new bodywork. You could level the same criticism of the Suzuki and the Aprilia for that matter. That Aprilia engine is used multiple times, Piaggio switchgear used on multiple bikes, dash etc. All of these manufacturers have to maximize the use of common components to keep the price down. Chinese competitors knocking on their doors! 😅
