I mount a small fan to the roof of the truck with small bunges and use it as a ceiling fan. It's seems to circulate the heat from the top down and keeps the cab alot cooler
Green APU has changed the game on the industry. Reliable Kubota diesel and automotive components basically just like your car has. Get parts at most auto stores.
@EdoHannibal I think it’s closer to $15k now. Let the APU fan boys believe what they want. When they need to fix it, I can buy 2 generators. Let alone lifetime of generators what the pay for their APU on. A truck that only last 5yrs 😀
@DrivingByBraille do u use the truck ac when u running down the road, or the portable ac? I'm looking to get one, and I don't wanna fix my truck ac if I just run the portable one all day
@MrKingcruz no, the portable will only keep the bunk cool. It don’t have enough BTUs to cool the whole truck. I’d like to eventually put in a rooftop unit like on an RV. Had one on an old truck and that would keep the whole truck freezing even in 110° Arizona heat.
Saw a 2000w silent inverter genny setup a couple of months back that was mounted up on the back of the cab on the same bracket that held the mini-split it was powering along with feeding a battery charger....asked the guy about it an he showed me how he didn't even have change the oil as it was set up with an oil line off the engine feeding engine oil from the truck engine into the drain plug of the generator with a check-valve to stop the oil draining out when the truck engine was stopped, this line had a 1/16" restrictor in it, there was also a return line that came out of a plug threaded into where the generator oil filler plug normally went to return oil to the trucks sump when the truck was running.....fuel was fed to the generators tank by an electric pump from a 30gal gas tank down on the side of the chassis with an overflow that went back down to the gas tank, this pump was on a timer switch to kick on a couple of minutes every 3hrs whenever the generator was running. Genney was electric start as well Best setup i have ever seen bar none
Only issue I see. Diesel oil is different then gas oil. But if ya can get away with it.. good deal! And I would worry about that gas generator contaminating the diesel oil.
@@DrivingByBraille Diesel oil is higher spec than gas oil as it still has zinc in it so is better for high load......lol having worked my whole life as maintenance for earth-moving machinery every vehicle i have ever owned has had diesel oil run in it no matter what fuel it used with the exception of motorcycles that have the clutch in the engine oil.
Not really i have a generator in my truck that is 7.5 kw diesel gas is to dangerous ari built mine 156inch with shower full kitchen and bath room a cabinets all over and all the comforts of home and more
I have 12000 air conditioner ptu with fireman 2000 gen. It does fairly ok. It holds close to a gallon of gas. Run time good nine hrs. I had a apu on the truck i took off and sold it. Fixing apu now days is very expensive. Not anymore. I love the inverter generators. Cost of running apu and running inverter generators cost wise. You safe a lot money with gen. I check the cost for both.
I have a PM3-100LK power converter/charger, it can be setup as a charger or be set to constant voltage. I am nearly done swapping to lithium instead of running a generator but that thing saved my tail once when the sense wire on my alternator rubbed out and blew a fuse sending the charging voltage to 19.5. I thought my headlights were working well that morning 🤣 disconnected the alt and fired the gen up and it was able to carry the load. genuinely surprised no modules or sensors were taken out when it happened. As far as the current setup goes, 600AH in lithium, 60a dc/dc charger made for lithium, 2kw pure sine jupiter inverter from harbor freight (slated for replacement due to massive CB interference) Eco flow wave 2 dual hose inverter ac. It will cool the whole truck at night but direct sun will not even keep up with the sleeper seperated off. It should still work out given my running pattern. Failing that though, there are new portable acs that are inverter based and dual hose that are a lot better on their power consumption along with the massive benefit of not having a surge at startup. The inverter generator I was using when directly powering it would just slowly ramp up to a raised idle where with a traditional ac it would nearly stall with just a 5kbtu unless I had eco mode disabled.
Thanks for the info! Just got a 4375 predator and set the AC up. Beats idling! Looking for an alternative to the G15000 looks like it's discontinued unfortunately. *found it: GeniusPro25 is the new version
I have it plugged into a power bar. 1 10gauge power cord is plugged into the generator. And that plugs into a power bar.. everything in the truck, Microwave, printer, toaster, fridge. Plugs into that power bar. The charger comes with the connectors to hook to the battery.
great vids keep up the great work , i am off topic ,but can you show your set up for engine diagnoses, i have a c13 kcb ,and looking for a reasonable ,set up .thanks in advance.
Called research man. And yes I have said where I got the bracket from. Don’t expect everything in life to be handed to you, eventually you will need to figure out stuff on your own. Called being an adult 😉
What is the with of genartor I have the same setup with a 3500 its really tight. the 3500 is 17.5in I have about .5 clearance between the bracket will this one fit? There’s is no specs on it on harbor freight or anything on the net.
I have a 2200W westinghouse generator on my truck with a 12000btu air conditioner, and now I find a problem, every time I go to Las Vegas and Phoenix, the hot weather causes the generator not to work for a long time, I Guess it's the alternator overheating. Since I let it rest for a while, then it can start again, 15 minutes later, shut down again, I was wondering, does your generator shut down when it runs for a long time in hot weather? Or can it run continuously 24/7? ? ?
Does it have a spark arrest on the exhaust? If so, might be clogged. I remove those things. But no, mine doesn’t over heat. Even sitting in direct Vegas sun.
