Saving the canal system for recreational use has been a wonderful thing for generations of boaters, and industries such as yours. Think of all that would have been lost if the network had been allowed to fall into complete disrepair.
Too true Tammy, and it's not just the monetary and economic value either. The canal and inland waterways system has huge benefits for users on mental health and well being - whether that be on a boat or fishing, walking, cycling, painting, canoeing etc...
Hi Justin, caught up with your virtual open day yesterday on face book. Very informative and fun. Margy has been watching numerous narrowboat vlogs during lockdown and we have been discussing whether we have one more trip let in us! We often talk about the 3 previous hires we've done with you on your fantastic boats. Cheers from Australia
Thanks Lawrence, hope you're both keeping well over there! It would be lovely to welcome you both aboard again, I'm sure you're both already drawing up routes! Lovely to hear from you. Take care Justin
doing a great job with the boats we are currently in the middle of selling are house and would like to come and see you about you having a boat built with you guys hope to see you soon keep up the great work. S C UK.
No problem just drop us an email via the website and we can arrange something when lockdown is over. Happy to show you around and explain what we do. Best regards Justin Aqua Narrowboats
Hi Nick I'm not aware of a fully electric narrowboat builder that offers boats for long term cruising. There are a few days boats that a fully electric, most liveaboard boats with an electric motor will also have a generator on board to charge the batteries as solar alone will not provide all the power needed to charge the batteries for propulsion and domestic power. Therefore I'd personally class those boats as hybrid. Thanks
Really loved watching the video of this livestream. I'd never heard of you guys before, now I have so thanks. You guys really seem to run a tight ship (no pun intended :) and the quality shines through. Questions: Do you work with different shell builders, or only one? Can the customer specify the exact length of boat required for example or are only set lengths offered? _Just one niggle, I could only watch in 360p and your craftsmanship deserves to be viewed in 1080p_
Glad you enjoyed the stream. We filmed this via Facebook live it was then downloaded and uploaded to RU-vid, so this may have effected the quality. This was our first ever live stream so we hope to improve the film quality as we continue. Regards shells, we have worked with a number of different shell builders. Next year we'll be building on a 70ft X,R and D shell with recessed panels and rivets. This will have a traditional look outside but with a very modern interior. All the boats are bespoke so built to the customers required length (to the nearest inch). Thanks Justin Aqua Narrowboats
Hi ya very well organised, professional finish,a couple a Q's for you. what anti slip do you have on board? Do you have traditional paint work or are they sprayed?
All the boats walking surfaces and decks are treated with anti slip paint to comply with safety standards. All the shells are git blasted and then spray painted with 2 pack epoxy paint for a resilient, non fading and hard wearing finish.
