Anyone here ? I’m watching due to I’m scheduled for this procedure on May 28th 2024 in Jacksonville Beaches Florida. I’m 70 and have spent my entire 60s fighting this.
I spent one sleepless night in the hospital. The night nurses were awesome. They were right on top of it. Changing the saline bags for irrigation of the bladder and pinus. Only saw blood in the tubes when I tried to move. Went home the next day with the catheter in me which my doc recommended it stay in for a week because of blood clots. That was a pain to deal with But I got through it ok. I was so glad to get that out of me. When I got home after catheter removal my bladder started cramping and tried to pee and couldn’t. I freaked. Immediately went to my I pad and googled What to do if you can’t pee after catheter removal. Tip- go in bathroom turn on sink faucet hang over toilet and clear your mind. That worked. I had flow. lol. Don’t believe these other guys saying they could pee like a racehorse immediately. That ain’t so. It will take time to heal. It’s been 2 weeks and four days and I’m going ok but not there yet by no means. My doctor told me things get worse before it gets better. He was right. I’m getting a little better each day. I just have to watch what I drink especially cutting back on coffee in the am. Lots of trauma down there. Needs time to heal. My next appointment is in 6 weeks . I’m hoping by then I be close to being healed up.
its now 4 days after my surgery. Im not in pain. Urine is returning to normal color, i.e. no reddish color. Taking it easy is hard because I normally heavy, hard work is my norm. In short, I wish Id done it years sooner.
