We have started a series on Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS). This video explains about the Degassing of harmful gases which accumulate in the culture water of RAS. This also known as stripping of dissolved carbon di oxide and nitrogen gas. This is very important topic to know for successful operation of any RAS. The easy and very practical way we resorted to explain it with no any hi fi things. The practical experiences are being shared to help the aspirants to be aware of these management practices. This is essential point for the beginners as a farmer or investor. as well as for the farmers who have experience in other aquaculture systems and want to diversify in RAS. Kindly see full video and do not have any attention deficit. My best wishes.

Informative video sir, pl make a comparative video on RAS and Aquaponics. Also since aquaponics is too much labour intensive can a little plants be integrated in RAS, will it be beneficial in removing harmful gases particularly CO2 and nitrogen as plants absorb them during their growth

Plants utilize CO2 during photosynthesis to produce oxygen (O2) and organic compounds. Aquatic plants can indeed uptake CO2 from water of RAS incorporating plants into a separate tank within the recirculation circuit. It can be beneficial as they can help reduce CO2 levels in the water. However, it's essential to ensure proper management and monitoring to optimize the effectiveness of this approach. Aquatic plants primarily uptake nitrogen in the form of nitrates (NO3-) and ammonium (NH4+) rather than directly absorbing dissolved nitrogen gas (N2). Nitrogen gas is relatively inert and not readily available for uptake by most plants, including aquatic ones. In the nitrogen cycle, nitrogen gas (N2) from the atmosphere is converted into nitrates ((NO3-) through a process called nitrogen fixation. Nitrogen fixation can occur through both biological and non-biological processes. Therefore, while aquatic plants do play a crucial role in nitrogen cycling by absorbing these nitrogen compounds BUT they do not directly uptake dissolved nitrogen gas.
