The South Florida Beach Divers are happy to finally be able to get back in the water!! It was a difficult April for us, with easterly winds that kept the the waves churning and visibility a mess. But for Mother’s Day weekend we were treated to some westerly winds knocking down the waves and a strong southerly current which likely assisted in improving our visibility. We were also greeted by no lack of marine life and it was hard to keep this video down to only 15 mins with the aquarium like fish that we were surrounded by. Our dive started north of the Margaritaville hotel as we followed the reef south to the Yellow Brick Rd. Not much kicking was needed as we drifted right down. Once on the Yellow Brick Rd we really noticed the current. At times we had to swim diagonally just to stay on the site. Water temp has increased since our last dive in March and was 81 in the surf and 80 on the reef. It was really nice not needing the wetsuit. Swimming back against the current increased our appetite for a little brunch and decompression fluid on Hollywood’s Broadwalk
