AD: "You guys didn't expect the whole scape in one video, did ya?" ME "No... But I kind of wanted it anyway." 😅 Jokes aside this keeps getting better and better by the video, and to think we have more tanks being built after this masterpiece. Need to myself a discus tank someday too, but I usually end up getting angelfish or puffers instead. 😆Excited to see more soon. Keep up the awesome work and content.

I don't know if you could see the whole sump in the video is 2 sections connected, not just the one side. That said it is a sump I had to throw together quickly so it will get redone when I get the time. 😊

You could totally put a turtle in this tank. If u could get your hands on an Amazonian spotted river turtle that would be a great fit since they inhabit the rio xingu. All you would need to add is uvb lighting and heat over a place it can get out of the water and your good to go! Other options are turtles you can find in south and Central America but idk how much you want to adhere to the rio xingu theme
@AquariumDomain.
@AquariumDomain. 10 месяцев назад
Not sticking strictly to the Xingu river, but I do want to stick to South American species. Only turtles that have ever interested me are Fly River Turtles, but not sure if I would ever have one.

Thanks for the update. Standing in line to check in for a midnight international flight. Great way to pass the time. Q: Why not just use the glue and paper towel method for the wood. Idk maybe the zip ties will help covered up on the next pass? Just a thought. Would if mangroves would grow in that tank would he cool to have some nice live roots coming down. Even better in a few years when they thinken up. For the discus tank I would just remove the wood.

The zip ties are to hold things in place while I am mocking up the scape, I will be using a foam product to bind them in place long term. I only worry about the longterm ability of the zip ties to remain intact. I have used zip ties for aquarium applications in the past and they become extremely brittle after being submerged for a few months. Touch them and they snap. The crates won't be moving around much, but the ties probably won't be doing anything to keep them together after a while.
