“I wouldn’t call the cops.” Love it. I actually talked to you at Aquashella about this and agreed about the cops thing. I thought about it though. They have access to stuff you definitely do not. They can access cctv cameras from all over that area and might come up with something. I also thought about an autopsy? Bottom line you’re a business owner and this incident cost you thousands of dollars. We’re talking felony criminal mischief at the very least. It could be your only get back? Btw, you’re a beast for bringing that tank and fish to Aquashella. That must have been quite the undertaking? It was a pleasure meeting you and your wonderful family. Keep doing what you’re doing.

Rod and Lisa, I am SO very sorry for your loss. It boggles my mind that some little punk would want to do harm to your fishes. And that one person has now screwed it up for everyone else who wants to come see your incredible collection. I will keep both of you in my thoughts and in my heart. That breaks my heart, man. That araipama was one of my favorite fish in the shop.

Sounds to me you need to completely drain that tank and change the filter out...Maybe put a lot of antibacterial treatments in it in case there is something in the water still that is harming the fish before any others die

Bro you have to take that tank down and redo everything. What ever is in there is still in there. Either something is leaching into the water or you have some kind of disease.

Sorry for your loss Rod. That was a really big arapaima and sadly the other arapaima lost his friend. Actually, we all loss a good friend in that fish. Hope you can raise a new one soon. Whoever poisoned the tank really has got no soul to take it out on the fish.

It’s a bacterial infection, the red is sepsis & is a result of bursting capillaries caused by the systemic infection. The Pig-Nosed Turtle also has signs of an infection on the top of its carapace. This can be caused by scratching etc initially, but without adequate treatment can quickly become septic too. It sounds to me like water quality issues…

Totally understand what he is going thru, same thing happened to us, someone poured floor stripper into out saltwater system many years ago and killed everything!!!y My suggestion to you Rod is to fully Incase your viewing show tanks so there is zero access to your guests. Meaning build a wall in front of your 30 foot long tank and build a wall above shark pool.only employees can enter these areas. Don't let the one person stop the viewing enjoyments of the other hobbiest. Keep up the hard work.

Wow! Blown away that you lost one of your beautiful arapima. Id be getting it autopsied to see if they can find traces of the cause... in the meantime i would do a total bio restart on that tank... dispose of all your filter media. Clean all piping and filters. Set up a pool pond and remove all fish. Total scrub down of tank. Restart bio with filtration media from a non affected tank and start from scratch. Buffer your water and return fish to tank... just to make sure that there is no residue to keep on affecting more fish! Hugs to you and Lisa and the little man from me in Australia. Your boy is the cutest lil fella. And I feel your loss. When I went to Puerto Rico for the Maria hurricane restoration, I lost all my fish. About $6000 worth of full grown out. My wife said she was feeding them like I'd showed her, but my son said she just dumped the food in the tanks and they got milky. I don't think I've ever been more pissed off at a person before in my life. And yes we're still married, I just used that as a justification to good bigger and better with my aquariums. So if she thought it was gonna make me stop fish keeping, it only made me amp up. And I've been keeping fish for 40 years.

I think you need to check the tank system too (maybe there's something still in the water/system that causing these chain of events to happen) and you can narrow and identify the cause if its still there.. cheer up and we know you will overcome this! btw your little kiddo is so adorable haha!

What do you say to someone you don’t really know about loss, you’ll always say sorry or that’s rough, or my favorite is time will heal your pain… But it never really does, it’s a life lesson… After all it’s just a fish, how wrong. I love and have goldfish my beloved one died on me, she would swim into my hand for pets and food. She was a lionhead Oranda. Her name was Peaches…. I cried days, so Rod and Lisa I truly feel your pain. Never to this day have I ever had another one like her. I would truly love your give away and I would give them a good home. If the price of shipping ever goes down I want to order some from you because your fish all look healthy well cared for and real good prices. Bless you all, and kiss the munchkin for me!

Im so sorry to hear whar happend. I wish i could enjoy tanks like you have. When i losr my job of being a schook bus driver of 18 years due to no longer be able to walk well any more because i have sever neropathy and is getting worse, I wanted to committ suicede. the connections i made with all age groups on my buse was extremely fullfilling and my enjoyment of tanks and fish. I dont get to see my family much. the complex i live in is riddled with crime repairs arent done. i could go on but wont. I became a sever alchoholic went to rehab. I have no one that stops to say hello. It is just me and my small support dog. Watching your shows lifts my spirits and you all give me a reason to continue in this life. I will never be able to affprd your fish or get the chance to meet you as i can no longer travel.
