You are very welcome 🤗 I am glad that my video reached out to you and helped you save money and thank you for watching my video. I really do appreciate it.♥️
I am installing this same unit, this may be the best water softener installation video on youtube. I appreciate the time and effort it took to make this video, you are an excellent teacher!
Thank you so much for your kind words. ❤️ I really do appreciate it very much. You will love your new water softener system for sure because I loved mine and it works perfectly. I didn't regret purchasing this unit at all and I am glad that I went with this unit. 👍
Just wanted to say thank you for this very detailed and helpful video. I just bought and finished installing the exact same system in my home with the help of your video. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the video. I just purchased 64,000 grain and I'm going to install tommorow. You are a great teacher and made it simple and easy to understand. Thanks so much.
You are very welcome 🙏 and thank you for your kind words. Please keep me posted on your progress and results. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to message me anytime.🙏
I just bought this unit and will be installing it, and doing all of the plumbing work, building the loop off my main, first time! Wish me luck, I'll be writing!
Thanks for this video! I just had my system installed today and the manufacturers instructions for initiating the first regen cycle were a little confusing for me, so I had no idea how to tell if everything was working correctly. I appreciate your thorough explanation of what to expect during the regen cycle, it helped me double check to ensure that things were running smoothly.
Came here for review of aquasure softener. If you have an oring seal do not use Teflon tape. The tape could prevent the oring from making contact and sealing.
Not saying you're wrong because I honestly don't know the correct way but the instructions do say to apply 5-6 wraps of teflon tape around the threads of the plastic nipples going into the pre filter housing. Those have O rings on them so not too sure what to do. Use tape or not?
@pianomanamz yes you still do need to put Teflon tape around the thread. Even though the pipe has O-ring on it. It's the best way to get a better seal on the threads so you won't have leaks. It'll be a very hard task to remove the pipes if those pipes are leaking when turning on the water. I hope this helps. Please let me know your progress after your installation. 🙏
Wow! I am glad, and you'll be saving $2,700. Thank you so much for watching my video. 🙏 Any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to message me anytime. 😊
13:05 ever since watching your video (great help for my installation of the 48000 model, thanks!), now whenever I have to work with plastic parts I tell myself "don't over tighten, because you gonn' break it. it's plastic, so remember dat."
Excellent video. Aquasures installation video is excellent, but this is the source video for getting the system initialized. Many thanks from hardwater Paradise Valley.
Great video. I personally research very closely things that I am about acquire from all sources possible. You tube is but one of the research outlets I use. I watched a video previously but the author rambled to much. This is much more effective with a more direct presentation, I will be installing the same make as yours, but using the 48000 model. Have a good day.
Be aware; the inner diameter of 3/4" PEX B fittings are smaller than the inner diameter of 3/4" copper tubing. If you already have 3/4" copper throughout your house and want to avoid flow reduction, then you should use either 3/4" copper, 3/4" CPVC, 1" PEX B, or 3/4" PEX A (PEX A is expanded over the fittings so the inner diameter is not reduced like PEX B). If you choose to go with PEX B, it is best to use the brass fittings instead of the plastic ones, as the plastic fittings are thicker than the brass, so they have a smaller inner diameter and will restrict flow slightly more than the brass fittings. However, if you are hooking directly to your main water line and it is 1" copper, then your best bet to maximize flow and pressure downstream of your system would be to install the entire system using 1" copper, 1" PEX A, or 1" CPVC. I realize this is a lot of information, but I hope it helps!
You are very welcome ☺️ Yes you are correct! The water in the brine tank is always half full (supposed to be half full). The salt level should be around close to half full (1/4) just like the water level. You only add one bag of brine salt once a month or once every month and a half.
solid vid! i realize the drain hose is 1/2" but that must be OD.. I matched it up with 3/8" PEX and it seems to work well, do you know if that is acceptable if my drain hose is too short? I am dealing with a concrete floor and the drain is 15' away..
I installed this same unit a week ago. Helped really well the first few days but the past couple days I’ve notice the eggy sulfur smell return but clean water. Any tips on eliminating this smell?
Give the system about a couple of weeks or so to see if the smell disappeared and make sure all of the valves on the water softener system are fully opened and there is no blockage of the waste water line from the resin tank. Where is the smell coming from? The smell in the water or it came from the system itself?
Great video. Is this one a Cross-link Resin or Fine Mesh Resin model? Looking into upgrading to an Aquasure Harmony but not sure which one to choose and why.
My water softener system is a fine mesh system that can remove dissolved iron up to 10 ppm from the water coming from the city. Usually, cross-link water softener is good for water without chlorine that's coming from the well water. I hope this helped you decide which system to get.
Good morning Mr Bee. Just installed last week and now my softner is reading 73 gal. Does this mean it will regenerate tonight at 2am because the 1000 gal is about to run out?
Yes, once 73 gallons run out, it will regenerate at 2 am. Also, don't forget to check my other video on how to calculate and set up the total gallons for your household. A 1,000 gallons was a preset setting from the factory, and you don't want to leave at that setting. Because it generates too often. Please check it out. It's the video in my channel about how to test water hardness and set up on AquaSure Harmony Series 64,000 grain.
You can try it, for temporary....I would say it'll work and it might not kill your sump pump. For the long term and continues use, yes it will because of salt water.
Good morning, Mr. Bee. Could you please teach me how often I need to add salt pellets to the black plastic tank? How many bags of salt pellets should be added? Thank you very much, chih
Just found out a new house I am interested in gets water from a Well. Would this system help to ensure that there' clean water? My kids have sensitive skin.
Yes definitely! But it's a good idea for you to install an extra water filtration system for the well water to get filtered before the water softener system. To ensure the water softener system to work properly and efficiently and prolongs its life. Well water has high minerals and it's not safe to drink unless filtered.
@@MrBeeHS to my understanding, minerals in the water is good for your health... extreme hardness is not good... to much of anything is not good.. bottled water has hardness added after filtration... city/town water has hardness added after filtration... what are your thoughts? p.s .... copper pipes are anti microbial, plastic is not...
@blitzkrieg.u812 yes you are correct 💯. Minerals in water are good for your health....up to a certain limit. Too much minerals will cause harm to your body like causing kidney stones in your body. Yes bottled water has hardness added to it as well and also to help with the taste. It also depends on where you live as well. Some cities or states have extreme hardness than others. Especially in my area...Dallas, TX. Hardness is very high in my area. So installing water softener helps a lot for my water inside my home. I also have an 11 stage Reverse Osmosis water purifier as well for drinking and cooking. Since my house is still new, they are all using PEX pipes vs copper pipes to save on the cost. Bottom line, I still wouldn't drink water straight out of the faucet unless it's purified and reducing hardness in water will help your household appliances run better and last longer and better healthier life.😃👍
There is no plumbing drain in my garage so I drain it outside towards the area where I installed French Drain. Yes, the dirty salt water will kill the grass. In my situation, the grass never grow on the side of my house where I drain the water (mostly are dirt and weeds) and that is the reason. If you do have access to the drain near where you install the water softener, I would recommend to drain it there. 😊
hello, im considering replacing my current water softener with a new one. Im also considering using plex pipe, which type should I use? It seems like B is the ones to use with clamps. How much did you spend on fittings, pipes and tools?thank you
@@MrBeeHS I couldn't find the answer anywhere, but how would you depressurize the system if I need to reapply teflon on the inlet of the tank? I have a very very small leak
Please help. At 41:47 Is the basket suppose to be tightly secured so it does not move? Im trying to put the basket in but it does not lock. It goes in and i can turn it Slightly counter clock wise, but if i wiggle the basket its loose and easily falls off if you slight tug on it.. Is it suppose to be like this? In your video it looks like its locked in tight..
You mean the upper distribution basket? The small gray basket? It's a little tricky on it. When you turn it counter clockwise, it should lock in place and it shouldn't come off when you wiggle it. Sounds like it's partially locked, that's why it came loose when you wiggle it. Try to put more pressure on it when you turn, but don't break it though.
You got to muscle it I thought the same thing it wouldn’t turn it wouldn’t turn but then I was looking at the little gray basket in the groove so you kind of got it just put it in and then put some muscle to it
Nice job! Quick question on why you left your controller set at 1000 gallons? Let's assume you have a family of 6 and your water hardness is 20 GPG (Very Hard Water). AquaSure's own website shows your regen should be set to 2,750 Gallons (City). By keeping the controller at 1000, you are flushing far too often and reducing your softener's efficiency.
Thank you very much. No, it reverted back to the preset at 1000 gallon. My actual number is 4042 gallons. That video was just showing how I set up/put together my system. If you watch my other video, it will show you how to calculate the actual gallon.
It has a self maintenance which schedule early in the morning after you deplete the gallon usage. It will clean itself and replenish it with salt from your brine tank.
Hey Mr. Bee, it's me again. I installed my 64,000 grain about 2 months ago. I noticed the brine tank is about halfway filled with water. I'm not sure if this is normal or not? My old softner had only salt in between regeneration.
Yes, it's correct. It's supposed to be halfway filled. Mine is halfway filled also. This particular brand will be halfway filled. You can adjust the water level as well in the brine tank. The adjustment is inside the white tube. It's kind of like in your toilet water tank.
@@MrBeeHS OMG Thank you so much. I was going to go home and try and clean the injector. My co worker scared me and said there should just only be a little water in between regeneration. I'm going to leave the float at factory setting. My water had been so soft and I couldn't have accomplished it without your videos. THANK YOU AGAIN. If you ever have a question about softner maybe I can help you out as well.
I have this same system. I’m not going through that much salt currently my water is about 2-3 inch over my salt. Should I have the salt about even or slightly higher? I’m using iron fighter pellets but still getting a little discoloration/ hardness. Any tricks you can suggest ? I’ve sent aquasure my water test/ results and they wasn’t much help other than helping me set the cycle to 2500 gallons instead of factory default of 1000 gallons. Any help is greatly appreciated
@jimmymolden4966 That sounds about right, my friend. How many lbs of salt have you put in? I use one bag (40lbs) Diamond Crystal salt pellets brand from Home Depot.
That is how it is....I know how you feel because it's a waste of water down the drain. It's ok because that is how the process works. You can't really use that water on plants or grass because it will kill the plants.....too much salt concentration. You shouldn't change the settings because the length of process was set at the factory, and it's not recommended to change the settings.
@@MrBeeHS i understand, but during the BD it’s drawing salt water and the same time it’s throwing water out the drain, and as you said it shouldn’t do that … 😢 I’m just a little be worried about it
How long have you had salt pellets in there? The salt pellets don't dissolve like regular salt. The salt pellets will dissolve very slowly. I added one bag per month.
@@MrBeeHS thank u so much sir, as our house here in vegas is pretty new but the drains are too far, also no water loop so the plumber installed it by the water main in the garage, and he said we can drain it in the ground wer there r plants and stones, i was just worried that it will make alot of mess of water outside
@louievictorio8790 you are very welcome 😊 It'll be alright, and it won't be messy since the weather in Vegas is pretty hot. It should dry up in no time.
Yes definitely! If you install the whole house water filter system along with the water softener system.... you'll have the cleanest water for your house and it will be one of the best set up, best investments that you will appreciate.
@@shate74662000 yes, but not the whole house filtration system though. It will be installing the electronic water descaler which will also help break down the lime scale in water.
I purchased this system for 900 dollars and I called them several times and I sent emails and they gave me the run around. I asked for help to get the brine tank drawing water in and they said we have no technical specialist that can help you. I stuck with a system that doesn’t work for the last 8 months. My water smells bad now after buy this system and I am getting yellow on my cars and walls. I never had this bad of a problem before but this system. I just wanted help with there system and they didn’t help. The system is not working. It won’t draw any softener into the system. It was a waste of money.
So when you say that your water smells bad now, does that mean your system is working now? What kind of brine salt are you using? Are you using the pellet kind? Also did you set up according to the number of people in your household? What size of piping are you using for your water inlet and outlet? Looks like your system might need some tweaking on the settings as well.
Yes definitely, but that part of my yard I have no use for, mostly weeds growing there not good grass. That's why I let it drained out to the yard on purpose.
You are incorrect about softeners adding salt to the water. That’s not how it works. You can water your plants and drink conditioned water. I water my plants with conditioned water all the time and they are fine.
Actually you are incorrect! Brine waste water contains a high concentration of salt. Sure you can water your plants with it and your plants might be fine right now, but just wait, your plants will eventually die from the brine waste. Salt concentration from brine waste will affect your plants. The salt concentration will fake the nutrients for plants and make plants think that it has enough water to feed and eventually the plants will die of water starvation.... it even kills my grass! I let the brine waste out into the side of my house and now all the grass turned yellow.
That's right salt is not added to your conditioned water, he bypassed the softener to not consume gals. sofened for outdoor water use to keep cost down so it won't regenerate and use up salt to wash itself. Water to your water bibs don't need soft water to water plants but plants don't mind clean water too.
Wow! Really? Can you show me any source of information or scientific proof stating that conditioned water will not harm plants? I will be waiting for that and please put a link in my comments so everyone can check it out if the proof is true that conditions water will not harm plants. How long have you use conditioned water to water your plants? Yes, you can definitely drink conditions water, just like drinking tap water (not conditioned water), but it's not good for your body (high in TDS).
