Which floodgate? 😂 Oh the closed one… Entertaining as always. We have the chance to redirect the flow of the water through the cattail pond. I would suggest a dam near the second aquatic farm.

The farm could just fill with a dam piece, and then have the water dump automated to fill only when the water is lower than the dam...

What you could do is to replace the outflow gates from the big reservoir with levees and dams on top if you never going to change the levels of them anyway. Will store a little more water.

As someone in an awkward timezone, please do the new waterbeavers as a video series. I love the current series and would love to carry on watching, I'm not the biggest fan of watching livestream vods.

Folktails' age-related deathwaves are caused by building a bunch of housing simultaneously. You can put an end to them by pausing some housing for a few days. Just remember to unpause them.

- You can increase your reserves of dirt by increasing the storage. - A long term solution for irrigation of water farms can be using a deep mechanical water pump on the levees. You can replace the dam with levees

- there's still stairs into nothing at the spadderdock farm - If you want to speed water flow up and use dirt a bit more, the water goes in two directions from the big spillway you built. Maybe raise the bit pointing away from your settlement up a block. Or forget about the dirt part and build floodgates, I guess.

→ I think your grilled chestnut storage could be a bit larger. The storage for raw chestnuts too. It's not clear whether you yould actually get more, but without more storage we won't see. → 59:05 "Maybe Europe has tiny oak trees" - I guess all trees start out tiny, but for harvesting them for logs, you want them a lot larger (and they grow up to ~ 30 meters, I guess). But if you want realistic scale in this game, you'd also have to wait 30+ years to have them grown, not the 28 or such days. So maybe we got mutated tree species, which are (and stay) tiny, but still give useful logs in a short time.

@JC The Beard, can you put a dam piece instead of terrain blocks for your big aquatic farm? That way your basin can fill without beaver workforce to 0.66 hight during wet season.

The problem with that is that 0.66 is not high enough to avoid evaporation during the longest droughts and it'd still have to be continuously fed by fluid dumps. It doesn't end up being that much of a convenience.

Water reservoir won't stay high enough during a drought when evaporation is factored in. We'd be replanting then five times an episode because they'd dry out constantly.

I do hope you use the mechanical water pump for the cattail farms, just because I've been watching since early in the waterbeaver series and you've never used them. Also the row of land by the fluid dump would be a great place to put small storage for unprocessed cattails just to make sure your farms don't get too full with harvests.

The beavers are MONSTROUS in size, and this is obvious due to the Wheel of Shame. The average fit human can produce 0.1-0.2HP on a giant hamster wheel(According to ChatGPT), while each beaver produces 225-450x the power of a human at 45HP.

Add me to the those who’d a play through with minimal terraforming and dynamite - appreciate it’d be very reliant on levees and dams but it’d be interesting to see a game working with the terrain than just flattening it!

The live oaks and pines here are small compared to the pines, cottonwoods black walnut and elms back in Colorado but the trees I'm thinking of are at least 100 yrs old but most are much much older 😊

You could have some damns between the upper ring reservoir you built up with dirt, so the upper one will fill then spill down to fill the lower one automatically during temperate seasons

Sound effects included.... You should get an audio clip of your voice making those..... race car noises, something that repeats well then when you do those few time lapses you can play the race car noise when your building long walls/levees/dams..... among other things! ;)

You could add a one dam high barrier at the end of that Canal down from the source! Or maybe a one levee high & then one dam high barrier to help maintain plenty of water for the spiral.

You don't need to overthink the dams on the spiral. If you keep them all closed it will overflow into the relevant areas and at the base keep one open so it flows down to the water wheels
