The AQUATRAINER is a unique device used for rehabilitation and training by means of walking in water.
This method of training assists greatly in the process of recovering from various types of injuries.
Walking in water requires a great deal of effort on the part of the horse. The horse walks against the pressure of the water, which means that the horses will use the entire body more.
Both the speed of the belt as well as the depth of the water can be varied. This way, the training can be completely adjusted to the needs of the horse. Cold water is used, which instantaneously offers a cooling function on joints and tendons.
When the horse walks in water, it will experience the force of buoyancy on the body on the one hand, while on the other hand the horse will displace the water by its movement. If the water is deeper, the effect of buoyance will make the horse 'lighter'. This means that the strain on joints and tendons is reduced when the horse moves. This makes it possible for horses with joint, tendon or bone problems to begin rehabilitation training at an early stage, therefore increasing the muscle mass instead of reducing it, and the horse remains in better balance.
Aqua training is also an effective aid to back problems. The resistance of the water means that movement requires more action from the hindquarters, this means that the horse tenses its abdominal muscles creating better use of the back and with increased freedom of the shoulder. The horse can therefore be trained without strain until the back is once again supple and the horse is strong enough to carry the rider.
The aquatrainer can also be used as a "normal" belt trainer. The upper part (part walked on) of the belt is not in the water, however the water below the walking surface cools the belt.

De aquatrainer is een uniek apparaat voor het revalideren en trainen door middel van het lopen in water.Deze wijze van trainen levert een grote bijdrage aan bij het herstel van diverse soorten blessures.
Het lopen in water kost het paard veel kracht. Het paard loopt namelijk tegen de druk van het water in waardoor paarden het gehele lichaam meer gaan gebruiken.
Zowel de snelheid van de band als ook de hoogte van het water is te variëren. Hierdoor kan de training geheel afgestemd worden op de behoefte van het paard. Er wordt gebruik gemaakt van koud water, wat gelijk een koelende functie heeft op gewrichten en pezen.
Als het paard in het water loopt, zal het enerzijds een opwaartse kracht van het water op het lichaam ondervinden en zal het paard anderzijds water verplaatsen door het bewegen. Bij het verhogen van de waterstand zal de opwaartse kracht van het water het paard 'lichter' maken. Dat wil zeggen dat bij de beweging van het paard de belasting op gewrichten en pezen vermindert. Dit maakt het mogelijk om paarden met gewrichts-, pees-, of botproblemen al in een vroeg stadium van de revalidatie te laten bewegen, waardoor de bespiering niet afneemt maar zelfs toeneemt, en het paard beter in balans blijft.
Ook bij rugproblemen is aquatraining een effectief hulpmiddel. Door de tegendruk van het water komt er bij beweging meer actie uit de achterhand, hierdoor spant het paard zijn buikspieren aan en ontstaat er een beter ruggebruik met meer schoudervrijheid. Het paard kan zo onbelast worden getraind totdat de rug weer los is en het paard sterk genoeg is om de ruiter te dragen.
Ook kan de aquatrainer gebruikt worden als "normale" loopbandtrainer. De bovenzijde (loopgedeelte) van de band bevind zich hierbij niet in het water. Onder het loopoppervlak koelt het water de band.
