Well, going to get my Stinger 2 next month, and i've seen someone using a massive bundle of cleaning cloth inside a plastic bag for target practicing... It's a cheap alternative vs. professional foam/other material targets, arrows shouldn't get damaged by it in any way, and you only need some duct tape for "repairing" it after the shooting.

Good idea thanks!

@@apartmentpreppers I have a 20 pound clothing bag too, in use as a target. Works good with standard bolts and even with hunting tips. Bolts won't get damaged. U can get those bags for few bucks on Amazon or ebay

I am waiting for my order being sent out around the end of November, so in the meantime i am binging every AR-6 video posted on RU-vid. I made a practice target from a synthetic shopping bag filled with cardboard, the logo on the bag is the face of a young sailor which is kinda funny and useful at the same time. I'll be using it plain out of the box before considering sights and lasers, i want to get a good feel for the basic setup. I might get the customization kit and spray the parts metallic orange which is my favorite. I hope there will be no shipping delays cause i can barely wait.

@@TheIcemanModdeler I got one, make sure you order some rail lube with it, you'd be surprised how fast your strings will wear out with a repeating crossbow. I like it, but it is designed for medium range shooting, so if you want to shoot long range you might want to look for a different crossbow. It is very safe to use, i like not having to manually load the bow with the string cocked. I would suggest getting a different foregrip since the standard foregrip feels a bit loose. Scopes are a bit overkill, you rather want a holographic sight if you are looking for accessories, again best used for medium range.

@@larocdokarnap3227 Cool, i also have been binging every video on it so i have an idea, Jorge's channel is the best for it. I'm getting it for home defense but also shooting it for fun so it think it's the best compromise. Jorge did a video what is the best for home defense and the small stinger crossbow is better for it's size but i also want to shoot at medium range. The 90 lbs arm will also increase the shooting distance but i will try it with the 55 one it comes with, thought it came with lube, will get some if it doesn't. Got an airsoft gun with a foregrip and a red green dot sight so i will use those, heard you can make the foregrip tighter by using a screw or something instead of just twisting the bottom knob. The foregrip on my airsoft gun is very tight. Will also get some broad arrows with it just for home defense, don't think i'll ever use it but it will be nice to have. How you u decock the weapon? Heard u can damage the bow if u dryfire. Can u cock it again and remove the arrow on it?

You should really mention the speedloader 😉

I have 2 of these and use razor sharp hunting arrows . The bow just for fun will fire a pencil 3 inches through a 1/4 inch plywood panel at 5 ft. yes a pencil. A weapon that is very quiet also and not to be taken lightly.

Hi Mohawk Steel, Wow a pencil can do that!?! Thanks for the comment!

I got the first generation without the stock. I like the one without the stock, because it's more nimble and lighter, meaning that you can maneuver it around faster if you need to. The stock it cool, but serves no purpose.

Stinger 2 has an optional 95lbs arm, the default one is 55lbs, it will be very difficult to cock the 95 without the lever of the long stock.

I still have my first generation steel model too. I put on the 80lbs from a Cobra I ordered for spare parts. I also fastened a sturdy black plastic pipe over the stock cocking lever held in place by a rubber sleeve from an old treadmill. So now due to modified length and leverage, the rate of fire on my AR-6 is easy and fast. Solid. Standard 6.5 aluminum arrows penetrate one side of a Bustelo Coffee can and through the other from about 22 yards accurately. So powerful even the plastic fins ripped through the can. And those Bustelo cans are very solid metal. Indeed, AR-6 is a legit home defense tool.

The short powerstroke makes it weak. It is probably as strong as a 25 pound recurve bow at a 28 inch draw length

There are much cheaper standard bolts and also broadheads on amaz fitting to the stinger. Also the bodkin bolt of steambow is worth considering (no alternative found so far) they are bit pricy but the really punch it through.

Hi BRunner, I do need to resupply on the bolts so we can go target shooting again - good to know thank you!
@Jackson.T

But can they handle the pro limbs?
@kaasmeester5903
@kaasmeester5903 2 года назад
You won't need a ton of those bodkins. You can use cheapy bolts for target practice; I found the included blue bolts similar enough to the bodkins for practicing. Just keep a couple of speedloaders' worth on hand for "the real deal". They do pack a punch. I have the Stinger 2 with the 90 lb limbs, and shooting at a proper xbow target (really dense foam) the bodkins go in up to the fletching. For comparison, I cannot manage to push them in even half that distance by hand. This definitely is a viable self defense weapon in case you don't have access to firearms.

Looks like the 55lb, my 90lb string was black in the centre, where as the included string is grey in the middle.
