Cân serch sy’n gyfres o Hen Benillion neu Benillion Telyn. Nodwyd yr alaw a’r ddwy bennill gyntaf o Gymro a oedd yn byw yn Llundain.
Love song. A series of Hen Benillion (Old Verses) or Penillion Telyn (Harp Verses) - the verses of the common people. On the sea shore are red roses, on the sea shore are white lillies, on the sea shore is my sweetheart, sleeping at night and getting up in the morning. The melody and first two verses were noted from a Welshman living in London.

Beside the sea there are red roses

Beside the sea there is a flat stone
Where I would speak a word with my love,
Around this the white lily grows
And a few sprigs of rosemary.

Beyond the sea is my heart,
Beyond the sea is my ochneidion,
Beyond the sea is my dear one
Who is in my mind every minute.
Full is the sea of sand and shells,
Full is the egg is full of white and yellow,
Full are the trees of leaves and flowers,
Full of a girl’s love am I.
