i have a pair of these speakers i got them off the side of the road when they were cleaning out a old house.i crapped on the weight when i tried to pick them up..i used them on my KLH Model 24 for a few weeks then realized the woofer was rotted on the sorround ring so i ordered new sponge and installed it sound great now,, but i want a nice Fisher or Reciever and turntable now. i heard a Sherwood on a multi test and play of all the top units and even thought it didnt make the cut i thought it was a standout? anyone else?
For the record ......those speakers are meant to be laid on their sides ..........kinda horizontal if you will ! I just bought a pair at a thrift store in the mid west ! They were bringing them out on a cart and I saw a price tag of $10 for the pair ! I told the guy to just go ahead and load them in my car ! I would have paid the guy $10 to load them ! Ha ! And they work and still have the original warranty card and instructions on the back ! Find of the month ! Maybe the year ! So on their sides ! 7-8' apart and 1' up off the floor angled slightly up and the back of the speaker cabinet should be 2' from the wall ! This info was gained by a sound engineer that knew the designer of these speakers personally ! He said my set was made in 1968 and in fabulous condition ! He also told me to find a new set of speakers that where at least as good as these would cost around $450-$800 for a pair so I'm just going to enjoy them and my local antique dealer can keep his $250 he offered me for them !
I didn't think about the horizontal layout, but thank you for your good opinion. Sometimes you can learn it cheaply. I think it is a speaker that makes many thoughts. May you always be full of happiness with music
@@audiodio Update ......these speakers have one of the most naturally musical signatures ever ! I've owned speakers that cost ten times as much that weren't as accurate as these ! You can really hear the midrange and high end separation ! If anyone reading this comes across a pair of these get them ! They're definitely worth any repairs you may encounter !
Thanks Wisdom. So, in that case, do you believe that the commonly used vintage walnut tilt back lincoln log type stands would be just about perfect, for these speakers?
250T와 비교한다면 어떤 차이가 있는지 궁금하네요. 저는 250T에 물려서 서재에서 서브시스템으로 듣고있는데 가끔 파워가 약함을 느껴서 셀레스천6si에 사용하는 유니티2에 우연히 물려보고 새로운맛에 빠져있습니다. 유니티2에 교대로 스피커를 선택하여듣고있습니다. 내가 가진250T의 문제일 가요?
400t와의 차이 말씀이시죠? 250보다 400이 출력과 구동력이 더 우수합니다. 반면 나긋함이나 여유를 살리는 맛은 250이 출력차이만큼 더 좋구요. 가격이 250이 더 비싸기 때문에 400의 종합포텐셜이 250보다 높다고 봅니다. 매칭에따라 힘을 쓰기도하고 못쓰기도 하니까요.
