Edward Cordova , sales manager at AR500 takes us on a tour of their Phoenix, AZ store. We learned a lot about their body armor and so will you. Www.ar500armor PART 2 • AR500 Armor Part 2 we have a subscription to epidemic sound
They're a scam, they charge $100 for $5 worth of steel that isn't rated for what they claim and will spall like a mother fucker. Everything they "make" is done in an over seas build house and is of low quality.
I have several plate carriers from London Bridge to Agilite and by far I like my Testudo Gen 2 better for the true value for my dollar! The quality is spot on. Thank you AR500 For making ballistic armor affordable .
I am a lowly security officer in a town suffering nightly shootings. I stand gaurd pot shops and we have already had multiple people tryimg to break in and theyre armed. Sadly they know there is mass amounts of money and drugs in that building. I feel its a matter of time before im shot at. Im looking at a testudo g2.
Well I really love my testudo Gen 2 and I have added the additional abdominal plate. I got a great deal on some level 5 plates from RTS tactical for 79 a plate there composite and a tremendous buy!
@@mccartneystuart Original package deal was $149 for carrier and front/back flat plates. I paid extra for curved armor and sides. Edit: I think the sale was originally $249, not $149. After tax and shipping, it was ~$320
Thats great you got to tour the AR500 facility. I own some of there products and have done personal testing myself. I like that it works and is affordable to everyday people. Keep up the great work AR500ARMOR and keep the awesome vids comming hotbrassandbullets
Speechless , i love guns ...grew up with them since 16 yrs old 43 now never thought i would hear kids need a bulletproof backpack in AMERICA...?? I love the amor !!!but not for KIDS....!!!😢
People only want body armor for their children because the media is constantly fear mongering about school shootings. Check out the actual odds of dying in a school shooting.
Who in the blue hell disliked this video.. Watching this has me on their website right now looking at a future order... I like what i see and it doesnt break the the bank... Great Job....
Adding 3% powder graphene to the resins of a Kevlar hard plate will make it even stronger. 2% in concrete makes it 70% stronger. 3% should make it 100% stronger by weight in the resins mixed and applying it to Kevlar layers. So your level 3 Kevlar hard plate should run level 4 to 5 bulletproof protection.
Any mention of level 4 armor? My active shooter upgrade is level 4 ceramic - much lighter than my 3+, but I keep both rigs on the ready - shit does happen😎
I was impressed with the test today. I pounded them with 223 and it didn’t even come close to penetrating it... even the standard level 3 had a smooth back. And the one with the buildup barely dimpled the front of it. Very impressed!!!
Love that they were running a buy 1 Donate 1 free to ukraine. Glad to know that some men of the TDF are going to make it home to their families because of the donations. Their steel has shown to be extremely effective vs 7.62 calibers.
I saw a video of your floating armor (AR 500 soft armor) that stopped a 700 grain BMG .50 cal bullet at 20 yards...was that a true video? It did not penetrate thr armor.
Some people are very specific on what they want in the IFAK. I know that many First Responders would rather get an empty pack so they can put their own stuff in there.
AR500 markets steel armor made of Abrasion Resistant 500 steel, covered with truckbed liner. The claim is that they are the best armor on the market, which is blatantly false. They claim superior multihit, and durability. M193 and other high velocity rounds are known weaknesses of steel.
They might make great armor, not sure, but lots of folks have been waiting on armor orders for over 30 weeks!! That means that AR500 Armor has some real manufacturing issues. That is a major problem.
Having her in front of the camera had 0 purpose but to show an attractive older woman on camera. Then you wonder why women get the stigma in this hobby/sport as they do. Just there for “attention”. She knew nothing about any of this gear, again she was just there for scenery. But besides her, this was a great video with tons of great info on AR500. They’re a great company.
Imagine how great it will be when we are free of guns and massacres are committed using machetes, knives and axes. I mean think about it, a lunatic barricading himself in a kindergarten classroom and just swinging for the fences, heads, arms and limbs coming off, what a glorious thought....oh wait, only guns can kill children, removing them from society will end school massacres, silly me.
I shoot at old ar500 3A plates. I blow holes right through them with regular old M855 rounds out of 16 inch barreled Colt SP1 sometimes they go through after the first shot. Same exact plate the man claims can take 5 rounds from a AP308.
Dana Horton 3A or IIIA plates are PISTOL rated: That is 6 shots of a .44 magnum at 1,440 FPS. The only steel armor plates that we offer that will defeat a M855 or a 5.56 NATO round are the III+ or III+ Lightweight steel armor plates. Please make sure that you are shooting plates for what they are rated for if you need to do so and then tell the world. Our III+ (NOT IIIA as you stated you "shoot and blow holes right through") is indeed rated for .308 AP. Source: I'm the guy in the video.
SamuraiEAC sorry about that, I must have confused the ratings. I should have thought before I started typing. I'm sorry if I offended you it wasn't my intention. I also own a pair of your Porcelain base stand alone plates level 4 I believe 10x12's that I absolutely love and would never shoot at. You guys make awesome stuff.
Oh man... I shot the hell out of them the last 2 days... I finally put 3 plates together and shot it with an armored piercing .50 and it didn’t go through the 2nd plate. Their armor holds up better then they say it does. Keep a look out for the video. It’s awesome stuff!
I'm always looking out for your videos. I really enjoy watching everyone that you make. I'll most definitely be looking out for you blasting your 50. Someday soon maybe even this winter I'm going to go to Colorado on vacation and when I do I'm definitely going to Dragon Man's and maybe I could even meet you at his range? We could do a little shooting. I think that would be a lot of fun. 😃
@@HotBrassandBullets I appreciate your input. I'm in the research phase and the scene at 11:14 and 16:50 caught my attention. I understand you had just pulled the carrier off the shelf and it may have needed adjustment; as adding a plate might make for an awkward looking "teeter-tahter". I am blessed to be married to a trim wife with a "blessed" upper torso. That scene, in particular, got the engineer part of my brain going and I thought "pounds per square inch." I would imagine getting the straps squared will flatten "the girls" a bit, but my mind is still thinking that the support points will be predominantly the chest. Unless I'm making an issue out of nothing; I'm suspecting an impact would cause the plate to press against fewer contact points than what a man would experience. I have no doubt that body armor is predominantly engineered for men. So I'm now going to research any items that need to be addressed with fitting my wife. If I seem ignorant, it's because I am about this subject. Any input you may have, is appreciated. Thank you.
No armor can guarantee you multiple shots! Also don't bet your life on this harden piece of steel don't know why people pay so much money for steel that you can get from any steel factory
Because this steel is coated so that the shrapnel of the bullets doesn't rip your face off. As he said multiple times in this video. Also it is curved. Steel factory plates aren't curved. And most steel factory only sell bulk, not single pieces. Good luck with finding a steel factory that will sell you a fitting armour plate.
SamuraiEAC i know was making a joke how he kept saying line-x at the start and corrected himself after the third or fourth time, I completely understand its “like” line-x its like apples and oranges tho really
The Paxcon coating that goes on AR500 Armor is formulated and made especially for us by Line-X. Nothing wrong with saying Line-X which is the brand name. Source: I'm the guy in the video and SamuraiEAC is my other account. ;-) When you need some armor, let us know! Tell them Edward sent you and you will get a deal, Mr. Darklighter.
OMG Edward. We put the armor to the test tonight and all my training partners were totally impressed with the extra buildup coating. They all have AR500 in their rigs but a few of them were talking about “upgrading” their steel in order to get the extra coating.
DaftSamurai thank you guys, been actually thinking of doing some prepping, and yeah I’ve watched so many of your plates take those beatings, Taufledermaus, Demolition Ranch, all my faves use your plates and have tested the HELLLL out of them, even watched Iraqivetren888 put the solid lead rounds into the plates and the line-x even stood up to all of that, and sorry bout the dig and thanks for the reply’s! The cannon was a bit overkill though....
You started out maybe as a good company but you have fell off. You will get a better warranty with a business from China ......oops almost forgot that is where they are having them made ....do yourself a favor and deal directly with China at least the Will Honor your return request and probably answer their phone.
