Arab vs Desi Pronunciation of the Arabic Letter Daud ض 

Allahumma Barik!!! You don't know, or maybe you do, how much you just helped me!!! I have been struggling for some time with the dawd sound in Surah Al Fatihah! I didn't know how to hold it for the shaddah and make it two sounds(land on it and finish it off). I hope that makes sensee. If you pronounce it as you demonstrated there is almost no way to miss it. I thank Allah for this and I thank you, His slave!!! Never stop what you are doing! In sha Allah. As our brother Muhammad Al Shareef (r) used to say...Here's to seeing you succeed on the highest level! And I hope that you do! Jazakum Allahu khairun katheerun

what the guy in the shirt said, the way to tell what part of india a person is from is the way they would say "ghoda sadak pe ..." True a bengali guy would say it differently to a marathi guy who would say it differently to a punjabi and hyderabadi guy again different. But here, you dont and cannot expect these regional people to learn and say it the proper way. That is just the way different communities say certain words, which may or may not even have had originated in their own language. Those words and the way they pronounce it are their own now. This is a gift of diversity. If those arab guys in his school mocked him for pronouncing 'llah not their "proper" way then it just shows them in a poor light. So many words are borrowed from one language to another, and has happened thru millennia, they have lost their original pronunciation in the borrowed language. english borrowed hundreds of words from indian languages, roman, latin, germanic etc. Does that invalidate their use now and throughout time? it's just become part of this new language and the speakers' culture.

Some ulama says Arabs forgot the mahrac of "ض". Something wrong in this video. İbnu'l-Jazarî (d. 823/1429), Imam Shatibî (d. 790/1388), Sheikh Izzuddin ar-Resa'nî (d. 661/1263), Abu Amr ad-Dânî (d. 444/1052), Jamaluddîn Ibn. Malik el-Harîrî (d. 516/1122), Sheikh Jamâluddîn (ö. 762/1274), Muhammed b. Ahmed b. Jabir el-Hevârî (d. 780/1378) Those ulama wrote specific books for the letter "ض" can be confused with "ظ” Your pronunciation of "ض" is a clear “d” and cannot be confused with "ظ”. Either the ulama wrote for nothing, or you are wrong.

Desi touch not able to break it, In shaa Allah will keep trying to learn the correct way with your help.
