We were on Ararat on May 6th of this year. It was a full-fledged winter ascent with strong wind and -30. Most of the group turned back at 4400. We continued the ascent with a small group of 5 people. And we were able to summit due to luck. I will not say that it was incredibly difficult, but because of the weather conditions it was not easy.
That sounds like an exciting experience! It's great that you made it to the summit👍. We would have loved to continue the ascent last year too, but the deep snow and bad weather unfortunately didn't allow it. However, my plan is also to try the mountain again in winter!
