Another wonderful video, giving me sentimental tears in my eyes of recognition, especially the boat trip! But to see it in a different season is so nice. I was there in early June, a totally different sight. The autumn foliage is so beautiful, need to go back in autumn! Thanks for making that video!
I want to go back in May to see the fresh green foliage! But the autumn foliage is definitely amazing. I somewhat assumed that everyone just had filters on their photos/videos. It couldn't possibly be that beautiful. I was wrong! Thanks again for watching.
I feel like words won’t do justice to how much I love this vlog!! It’s so beautiful and the activities were so much fun to watch, especially the boat! I felt like I was there with you 🥰
This was shot November 15th. Our full trip was from November 9-24. I found that in the cities the fall foliage wasn't yet at its prime, but in the mountains the foliage was amazing.
6000 yen! It was definitely a highlight of our trip. I would 100% recommend doing the boat tour. Even if you don't speak Japanese the ambiance is so fun.
November 15th! I hope you get to see the autumn foliage! It's definitely magical. My recommendation is if there isn't red foliage in the cities - you should try doing a day trip into the mountains like Ohara! The mountain go red a bit earlier than the cities.
Photo spot and fabric dying studio! You can buy souvenirs there. You can hang out for a bit in the outside section but the staff do tend to usher visitors along. I booked two weeks before hand. If you go during autumn foliage you will need to reserve. Green foliage maybe you can get away with just showing up? Not sure though. Their website has reservation slots so you can check how busy it is!
😮❤ thanks a lot for this video!! I am going in japan in fall. In kyoto in november thanks for recommandations . I have already book saihoji Moss temple. Can’t wait.
Can I know the exact date you visited this place? I have bought tickets to visit 1st to 3rd of November but im afraid i wouldnt be catching those vibrant autumn colours.
This was November 15th, you might get lucky and see some red! But I'd recommend going into the mountains if you want to see autumn foliage in the early weeks of November. All the cities seemed to be about 2 weeks behind the mountains for autumn foliage.
I love your video so much, you made me want to follow your step! Can I ask How much time do you spend in Arashiyama?? it seen like more than 4 hrs since you had done a lot of activities.
Thanks for watching! This was a full day in Arashiyama. We arrived around 8am and left around 5pm. Definitely best to get to the area early. It gets very busy mid day.
Thanks for watching! We were in Kyoto for 6 days. You can definitely do it in less days. We just took it slow and checked out a lot of different places.
@@laura7murray thank you for the detail. Gotta say, my wife and I fell down the RU-vid rabbit hole on Japan traveling, and y’alls videos of Japan are by far the most engaging. Great footage! Thank you, both!
This is such a great video! I am also going to Kyoto in November so definitely excited to see the autumn foliage from the boat viewpoint! Just wondering where you rode the boat and where did it drop you off? I saw another video where they first road the Sagano Romantic train and hopped on another train for the station where the boat leaves and then ended by the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. Was this also the same in your case?
I noticed while writing out the instructions below that the Hozugawa Boat Ride is now closed. Tragically, it looks like a ship capsized in March and it resulted in two fatalities. They are not running during the investigation. It's unsure if it will reopen but they have a tentative date for June. Below is what we did: The original plan was Sagano Romantic Train >> 5-10min bus to the boat launch >> Boat >> Arashiyama. But you can only reserve tickets for the Sagano romantic train in Kyoto so by the time we got there the tickets were sold out for the day I was planning on going. Its very popular during the autumn season. We just took the regular train to near the boat launch and then walked over. This is the station you catch the Sagano Romantic train. You can also catch the regular train here. goo.gl/maps/QZR5ccgHgU6LQ1Sj6?coh=178572&entry=tt This is the station that you get off of the Sagano Romantic train. There's a regular bus that goes straight for the boat launch, usually its timed so it leaves just after the train arrives. goo.gl/maps/Vzm8rH6tnCYu4pty5?coh=178572&entry=tt Here is the boat launch. goo.gl/maps/rNzUtfHtPLnD8TLTA?coh=178572&entry=tt And this is where it drops you off goo.gl/maps/yUur5dtmW3r21w4e8?coh=178572&entry=tt
The Hozugawa River Boat ride is something I haven't done yet in (magical majestic) Kyoto and now I'm dying to do it, beautiful. Thanks a bunch for the link in the description. Another gorgeously shot and edited vlog, L & I 🙏
I think I was at the Daihikaku Temple when I was in Arashiyama. It was raining and there was no flute, but the walk to get there was completely worth it.
