arca produced a lot of fka twigs tracks, and also vulnicura and utopia by bjork. she's INCREDIBLE. she's from venezuela and speaks spanish haha. hope you get more in her work
Arca has actually produced a good amount of FKA Twig's older stuff! It's funny that you heard FKA Twigs already so fast in the beginning. Arca also was a lead producer on Kanye's Yeezus, and her impact on that album is absolutely heard and appreciated. Arca and Sophie are just musicians doing things with music and music theory that no other artists are doing really. It's amazing. Another note: Mequetrefe genuinely is the most intriguing and best song I think I've heard made in my lifetime. The layers and instrumentality used achieves such an organic feeling despite all the sounds being electronically generated with a heavily autotuned voice. It's truly an atmosphere only Arca and Sophie achieve.
yassss queen! most of the songs are about gender / femininity, love and being a transgender-non binary woman. "calor" and "no queda nada" both are about her boyfriend, that's the reason those are the most melodic songs in the album. fun fact1: you said that in "la chiqui" she sounds like a little kid in a tantrum and the name of the song is literally "the lil girl", what she was saying repeatedly is "menéalo" which means "shake it". fun fact2: the last björk album "utopia" was completely produced by björk herself and arca, you should check it out too (: and fun fact3: rosalía is a flamenco-pop-RnB-trap musician, for KLK she recorded all of her vocals on her phone and send them to arca in voice messages. she also have a song with billie eilish.
KLK is my favorite because it's like a reggaeton alternative song and it's quite refreshing, I also love the lyrics hehe, empowering and full of joy. I can see both Rosalía and Arca dancing together and laughing really hard (they're very good friends and they actually met at a party). If you get to react to Rosalía I recommend you reading the lyrics and translations (Genius has them on their page)😬 Not that it's needed, you'd absolutely feel what the song it's trying to say by itself, but (at least) El Mal Querer is a conceptual work and you'd miss what's happening during most of it. Much love! Thanks for reacting to the requests people keep commenting!💚
I actually really loved Rosalías vocals and melodies ! I also really liked the vibe as you could see at the start of the song... but I think I imagined it going somewhere different so ended up being thrown off , but usually my least favs end up becoming my favs over time hahaha ! So glad it’s your favourite , just shows that every song is actually great. Checked the other day to see if Rosalía would have lyric translations and yes you are right she does , so I can’t wait for that !!! As you have seen in previous videos , I really love looking at lyrics 😁 thank you for watching and commenting , love what you have to say 🥰
I love your reactions because they always make me feel like I am listening to these songs for the first time all over again!! If you liked the more melodic songs, then you should definitely check out Arca’s self-titled album! I also saw someone recommended Sevdaliza, SOPHIE, and Caroline Polachek whom I believe are GREAT suggestions!
You don't understand how amazing it is to see you reacting to such a talented artist! Arca is like nobody else in the music industry! She will be releasing a part 2 to this album as well! Super excited. Meantime, react to SOPHIE! Her album Oil of every pearls un insides is very similar and a JOURNEY!
Yessss Sophie’s work youd love, shygirl’s ep is really amazing as well, I still think you’d reallllllllyyyyyyyy enjoy Pang by Caroline Polachek, like a lot a lot
Hi Queen! Please listen to @@@@@ by Arca. I promise you`ll be shocked, kind of terrified sometimes but you still will enjoy it. It just worths it. This song is definitely her most experimental work. Oh,also you should listen it with visuals for this track.
I'm completely addicted to watching people react to music and videos that I love so much! But one thing I can say, among all I watched this year, without a doubt this was the best! Your comments are the best! I've already followed the channel... Very eager to watch your other videos! A big hug to you and much success! 🇧🇷😘 Note: Sorry for the English, I had to use Google translator... 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤣
so glad people are getting into her. btw small fact but on the Japanese cd version there’s a bonus track on it called “mirrors”. you should def give that one a listen, you can find it somewhere on youtube.
This reaction was so fun to watch! This is one of my favorite albums of all time. Please listen to oil of every pearl's un-insides by SOPHIE. SOPHIE passed away in January, and I know myself and many other fans miss her very much. It would mean the absolute world if you reacted to it! (No pressure haha)
OMG thank u for reacting to this record, when I commented in the other video I didn't expect you finally would do it :D her self-titled album and SOPHIE's one are masterpieces ♥♥
você tem ouvido basicamente tudo que eu tenho ouvido nos últimos tempos. a arca é uma artista incrível, queria que tu fizesse a reação do novo álbum da Kali Uchis. enfim luv ya
I have to echo the SOPHIE (Rest in perfection) idea, it's an oddly beautiful album. I think Ethel Cain's "Inbred" EP would be one you'd enjoy; it's less in the electronic realm and more ethereal rock with absolutely incredible vocals. In terms of concepts, if true crime fascinates you at all, I think SKYND would be an interesting band for you too; they're an industrial/electronic duo who write "Crime music" that explores the actions of the world's most infamous criminals (Richard Ramirez, Jim Jones, Columbine etc.) and they manage to do it without being distasteful or disrespectful to their victims.
Thank you !! And wow SKYND sounds amazing ( I love true crime) !!! Also ethereal rock ,,, yep !! Will add them to the list ! Really appreciate you commenting and watching 💕
@@FernStone No worries, I knew I'd enjoy your stuff after seeing your reaction to Aurora's Infections... EP, and this video finally got me to sit and listen to Kick I after I kept putting it off, so I know what I'll be getting when I next go to Rough Trade. For SKYND, I'd recommend reacting with their videos (If RU-vid allow that), as it's a massive part of their artistry.
I LOVED IT! you seem so nice, i really wanna be friends with u haha. i really like how open minded you were while listening to the project and i would be really REALLY happy if you reacted to another projects by Arca. i was thinking about what other albums by her you would enjoy judging by what you liked with KiCk i and i think maybe you would like her 2017 self titled project "Arca"... so yeah, just an suggestion haha
this is her most mainstream and pop singer album, i think it's amazing but if you want to try out some experimental electronic ambient instrumental music, then i highly recommended reacting to her sophomore 2015 album called 'mutant', its 60 minutes of mind bending sound design and otherworldly beats, it has cool visuals from jesse kanda who did A LOT of stuff for fka twigs and bjork too, its a great album if you want your musical horizon to be pushed far, further than you thought it could 😇
The self-states line in nonbinary is talking about a state of being. So it’s like don’t speak on other peoples identities especially those of trans/nonbinary people At least that’s how I interpreted it
I came across This Reaction by chance and I'm so Happy for that. Arca has quickly Occupied alot of space in my music catalog 🤗🤗💜. Her Industrial/Electronic sound is Captivating 💓 and 🤯 🤯🤯. I highly recommend her mixtape, &&&&&, as well as her 1st album Mutant with songs like: Reverie, Anoche, Desafio are wat solidified my Fandom. I must agree with many Comments , you should def check out Bjork's VULNICURA (Arca Produced many tracks) & UTOPIA (ARCA Produced the entire album w/ Bjork) and is personally My Fave of the 2. Sophie (RIP) also has Gorgeous Music 🎶😍🔥😍🔥. Im babbling now 🤭🤭. So Enjoyed ur reaction 🤸♂️🤸♂️🤗.
Yay ! Meant to be. Amazing , can’t wait to react to more ARCA and Bjork . Also can’t wait to react to SOPHIE . So appreciate your comment and thanks for watching , glad you enjoyed 😁 💕
@@FernStone I wanted to post the pronunciation of these titles in Spanish for you and all other non Spanish speakers, to further unite the music community: Mequetrefe (Meh-Keh-Treh-Feh) soft e's like in elevator. Riquiqui (Re-Key-Key) Calor (Kah-Lor) it means Heat , the song refers to that longing of Body Heat from that special person. KLK (Keh-Low-Keh) the title is from a greeting used by many Hispanics from Caribbean /central south America (Venezuela) . Que Lo Que? - What's goin on ? La Chiqui (Lah- Cheeky) Machote (Mah-Cho-Teh) a Strong Man like a really strong Macho Man No Queda Nada (No Keh-Dah Nada) translates to There's Nothing Left
Not in my case... There maybe a bit of schizophrenia in it, but more on the euphoric side... To me is a celebration of the multiple possibilities within us personality wise (speak for yourself states)... To me is encouraging for us to be playful with our so called "identity"... Her previous album is more sad without a doubt... In this one even the musical references are festive: tecno, hip hop, reggaeton...
