It's "reggaeton", "reggae" is a complete diferent genre

Arca describes Araña as harsh and wonky with beats that skitter like the legs of a spider. One part represents “when the spider is eating you, sucking your liquids”, and the a cappella section at the end is all of Arca’s multiple personalities singing at once.

Kick ii used to be my favorite but kick iii took over to being my favorite after I gave it more time and actually sat down and listened

i'm really excited for you guys to listen to the rest of the kick albums, they're very different from each other but still pack so much within their short lengths. and that only makes the series that much impressive imo, since it's very telling of arca's range. kick iii is my favorite, but i know it's not everyone's cup of tea. i think babby will enjoy it a lot, while jerry will like iiii and iiiii a little bit more.

Yes! I was waiting for your reaction. I think Andro is one of the best endings tracks in an album tbh. I actually love all the Kick era, in my opinion Kick iii and kick iiiii are the best ones, so I’ll be wating your reaction haha. Greetings from Chile! :D

I know I’m an outlier but ii is my favourite record so was great to see babby fall in love with the textures and compositions (jerry you did well to last so long).

What I love the most about the kicks is the lyrics. Even if the music sounds calm some lyrics are just out of nowhere and make no sense at all like "confianza". Btw I read somewhere the kicks in general represent a form of rebellion against oppression. Not sure if it's official, but take it as you wish. ii should be something like the beginning of the rebellion while iii is pure chaos, embracing and welcoming the destruction to begin a new era with iiii. It is really impressive at first listen but it grows on you the more you come back. Can't wait to see your reactions! Edit: not that the lyrics talk about rebellion, but the whole concept of the records. I like to see them as a whole spiritusl journey

I'm not a fan of reggaeton because I think a lot of it sounds the same. It doesn't help that it is derived and borrows so heavily from reggae (dancehall, really) so it just seems a bit derivative for me as a fan of reggae and dancehall. Having said that, I still appreciate Arca's creativity and vision on this because she did something different with the genre. Will I listen to it? Probably not. But, kudos to Arca for making it her own.
