My old man is the epitome of not liking something before giving a chance "Nah. Shit." Etc Made him sit through the opening tracks on Arcade Fire's Reading performance. He looked at me with the conceding look. And agreed they are one of the all time greatest live performers he's seen in his 75 years. They are a live band through and through. Visually as much as they are a treat to the ears.

From the You Already Know genius page: A sample of UK TV host Jonathan Ross introducing Arcade Fire, from their infamous appearance on his show where Win smashed a camera lens with his mandolin. It was caused by stress and accidentally done, so the use of the sample could indicate the stress the band began to feel as they began to rise in global fame.

I mean who actually knows this for a fact? It certainly wasn’t a camera lens, it was a sheet of glass in front of the camera lenses, there’s a name for it that I’ve forgotten. So if that piece of information is incorrect then the whole thing of it being a result of stress could be called into question. I think win did it on purpose and they included the sample because it’s a great performance.
