Whenever I’m going through a depressive episode, I find myself coming back to this song. I first heard it when I was the happiest in my life in 2013 and coming back to it again in 2022 gives me so much hope and joy. Thank you, Soulwax and thank you, Arcade Fire.
Ever since I played GTA V I have been obsessed with Soulwax due to their in game radio station. Once I heard their remix to Synrise I started listening to all their shit. I searched them here to look for shit not on Apple Music. I found this and lost my shit. This is so so so fucking good. The fact Sprawl II is already one of my favorite songs makes it all the better.
I listened this song for the first time in a randomic way during a party with my friends. I ended up dancing with eyes closed with the girl i liked a lot, that moment was pure magic. The sounds, the vibes and the emotions i felt were incredible, the song was talking to my soul. It's been one year since that night and that girl is the woman i love. That song was special also for her. Thank you for the remix and thank you Arcade Fire
The original song is incredibly beautiful, and just about untouchably perfect. I think it's telling that the approach for this mix was largely deconstruction of the original, giving many of the little pieces breathing room without adding too much (besides switching a synth here and there) until the last third. And even then the addition feels more like dancy noise than countercomposition. (Much love intended here for both soulwax & arcade fire.)

I first heard about Soulwax in 2002 when "Much against Everyone's Advice" was on What then was TMF or Jim tv and after a a couple of Jamesons this weekend and feeling like nu-disco it just popped in my head and I'm happy to announce my re-born fandom!
The fact that this seems to be exclusively licensed to RU-vid and being unable to be otherwise purchased/downloaded/streamed, is an injustice to how good this is.
Let me tell you something, usually I listen to a song and I can predict how it will go, but sometimes they way I would have done the song (to me) is much better and always think Meh I wouldn't have gone with that part I would have done a different tone or riff... But with soulwax? I can't predict and think of a better way, songs just slap man, killer
