I never use Daimon, hate grappler characters. You always have to be close to your opponent to pull of his moves but it just results in me getting hit. Never figured out how to use grapplers properly.
kof 98 is the best not 97. 97 was great, but 98/98 um & 2002/2002 um are the best. 97 was great because it has a story. kofs 94 to 2002 were the best. kof 2003-present sucked
Depends on what you're looking for. If you like the gameplay and characters, I guess 1998 beats 97 maybe, but for the story part and the cool ideas 97 was great. And even today the storyline goes on. Maybe you're living too much in the past. Give KOF XIV a chance. The story continues and it is still great.
let me tell you something, i used to play kof when i was 4-5 years old when it was in the ps1. my first kof was 98 then i played 96,97,99 on the ps1 for some moments, but 97 wasn't that much good ok ? 96 was way better than 97 because the music & the story made it better. 94 was great, 95 was ok, 96 was ok, but 97 i wouldn't make it as the greatest kof. 98 or 2002 was way better than 97. kof 2003-present it sucked. kof xiv is way worse than 2003. the kofs that have great stories & music was from 94-2002. 98um & 2002um are better than the original forms of kof 98 & 2002
Cómo puede ser el mejor respecto a banda sonora si casi no tiene música? Sus temas son increíbles pero dejó mucho que desear respecto a ese tema. Para los mejores son KOF 99, 96 y 2000 en ese orden.

Este KoF quizá no fue el mejor en gráficos, pero sí en jugabilidad. Muy pulido y preciso, era un placer realizar los movimientos especiales y combos. Es un KoF injustamente olvidado...
The cinematics or Iori and leona changing, the orochi team and the amazing music that leads up to their fight and their theme, and a cool boss. Yep I can see why people like this game more then 98.
The graphics look better than 98 too. The game is so dark in tone though. Never thought about it till now. Its dang near like Devil Man. The Orochi saga is crazy.
The Orochi looks tough, but I've read that the AI has some holes in it that you can exploit and beat him easily with, and that he would be the hardest boss without them.

I played this game at the fair today. No joke! I went to one of the exhibits, and I saw a video game, and it was KOF '97! I played for a few minutes, but my mom told me I shouldn't hog the game. So, I let a kid play the rest of the game. I was utterly surprised this game appeared there!
The audience sound effects were in some way innovative, but the lack of dedicated musical themes (except for a handful of characters) was a serious flaw. The developers should have given the option of choosing between music and atmospheric effects, now THAT would have been innovative.

Esto es el que recuerdo más que todos.. Era difícil,la banda de yashiro rojo siempre me derrrotaba, solo algunos podían llegar al final pero orochi malo les sacaba la mierd a cualquiera.
La verdad que era mi pasión y de verlo me acuerdo que gastaba hasta 50 pesos mexicanos (hablo del 98, hace como 23 años) y la verdad que no olvidó nada de todos los sonidos y de cada año, lo mejor de mi infancia.
When I first played it I though there was an error in the game, lol. Kinda weird cuz all the previous games had music on every stage. Don't know what happened here. Maybe they went for realism.
Edgar Dominguez The game overall is just too quiet. For example against team psycho soldier. Kie will have no music, but then Athena will, and nothing for chin. It's so weird, only a few characters have music when you fight them. You mostly just hear audience noises. To me it just felt empty without music in the earlier parts of the game.
This game in particular tries to emulate a TV Broadcast. When a character with no theme appears you only hear the ambient sound. I kinda liked that. The only place in which no sound is werid is the discoteque stage. I mean, it's a disco.

-Extra es el modo que le permite cargar la barra para abastecerse de 1 barra de energía y cada vez que pierde un personaje, el tiempo de carga para esa acción toma cada vez menos tiempo. Puede usar ese stock para realizar ataques de retroceso, tiradas de emergencia, DM y ponerse en modo máximo. Cuando su vida parpadea en rojo y amarillo y utiliza un DM, se convierte en un SDM. Otra característica interesante es que cuando tu vida está parpadeando, puedes realizar tantos DM como quieras sin tener que cargar tu barra. Otra característica que solo está disponible para Extra es la capacidad de esquivar, se puede usar para evitar ataques, pero solo cuando estás parado. -Avanzado es el modo que se carga a medida que recibes daño, haces daño y bloqueas ataques. Puedes almacenar hasta cinco reservas de energía. Como se dice, puede usar estas acciones para hacer ataques de retroceso, tiradas de emergencia y DM. Puedes usar una reserva de poder para ponerte en el Modo Máx, mientras que en el modo Máx, tus ataques se vuelven un poco más poderosos. Mientras está en el Modo Máx, si realiza un DM se convierte en un SDM La característica única de Advance es que puedes esquivar el avance y retroceso.
