Quite impressive getting to play for 12 minutes on a single credit. When they design arcade games, they usually aim for less than 2 minutes of game play per credit.
Nobuyoshi Sano. Worked in the same team as Shinji Hosoe and Ayako Saso. Their style is all over the Namco titles of the late 80s up to the early 2000s.
Sharon casually setting world records in every event and being all "I will do better next time!" also man I forgot about this game SO HARD even though "nostop rock chop" inspired a litany of inside jokes with my friends. Good times
I remember this game in my local arcade when I was a kid. My three older brothers always get the 3 dudes while I was stuck with the girl. But I was the fastest button masher so I always beat them at the race and missile toss
Well I’ll have you know that, canonically, the girl was the actual winner, as in Mach Breakers, the lesser known sequel to this game, the player who gets the most points actually goes to an exhibition stage where they have to race her. So I see this as an absolute win for you.
Have you ever wondered, why there's no competitions with allowed doping or surgical improvements - to push past human abilities, to become super-human in its literal sense?
"This Isn't My Best You Know" could do well alongside "Best Friend's Girl" and "Drive". Frankly I'd rather replace Rick Ocasek with the Raoh-lookin guy.
So much amazing content! Thanks for doing this! As an indie developer, it's refreshing to see all these samples from an era from games were truly games ( not simulations ). Subbed!
The world was a happier place overall, just people living. Now the media social engineered everything to make people hate each others. And if you dont accept the establishment rules you get cancelled.
Because the record is based on player top scores. The AI can't place in the record listing. The idea being at the arcade many people will be playing and getting a world record would mean you were the fastest at the event on that machine. Since this is a rom this player will get a world record on every event since they're the first one to compete.
