Thank you very much. I've been heading down that direction lately. I'm doing my last walk through in about a week or two and I've added some good nostalgia items to the room
As a married man your my hero!! Your either single, divorced, or have the most understanding wife on planet earth. Man Cave done right. Back when I was a kid I thought it was cool to just have a pool table and a bar in your basement (this guys case attack).... impressive array of stuff (although I do feel sorry for your foosball table. I see why, there's no room to pull it out of it's corner to play it)
Thanks for saying that because I don't think people understand how tough it is to do this while trying to keep your significant other happy lol. It's one of the main reasons it's in the attic, because it's the onky space she would let me do this. Yeah im stuck with the Foosball because she bought that and I can't get rid of it lol
Nice job! I just claimed my attic to make my arcade. Wanted to see how others did it. Great use of space. I don’t have as much as you but close. Thanks for letting us in! You have given me some great ideas!
That's great, I'm very happy for you. You have to take what you can get. The only annoying thing is lugging them up to the 3rd floor but you do it once and forget about it
Omg right?! After hauling down everything up there down to make room, then hauling all the cabs up there took me Monday and Tuesday! Owe my back… the cool thing tho, now I will just bring the new cabs up and build them there…
Very cool arcade. If you have an old 50 or so inch HDTV, you can put it on the wall vertically and use one of those programs that show movie posters. I have one and it just really adds to the ambiance of the room. Seeing that old T2 movie poster with the "now in theatres".
That is one amazing retro arcade, my friend!! I love all the wall decorations but I got to ask, what do you use to stick them to the walls? More specifically the Pop figures/toys/video games.
Thank you very much, I really appreciate it. I bought plastic protectors for the pops, games, and magazines that I have on the wall. Once I have them in the plastic protector, I use double stick tape. I usually get everything off of Amazon, but sometimes Ebay, if I can't find it else where
Beautiful and very nostalgic! Great job! Got my 1st arcade 1up(Tron) about a week ago. Wife said it looks cool but not in the living room, said I should move it into the guest bedroom, which is large and unused. Ordered Dragons lair and Ms Pac-Man Legacy last night. Lol now I have plans for that room!
Awesome! Yeah thats what happens lol incase trying to get away with leaving NFL Blits next to our mini bar but it onky last a week. Thats going to be a fun project for you
My husband bought TMNT one, with the arcade version and Turtles in Time, said that's the only one he'd get. Now we have dragons lair, the mk with one through three, NBA jam, Street Fighter 2, and rad racer I think it's called. He at least built a building in the back yard with electrical hookups when I asked, because if I hadn't, my living room would be over run😅😅😅
Thank you very much. All my friends enjoy playing the older games but my kids rather play the newer stuff like Call of Duty, God Of War, etc. They do like it but they definitely play the next generation stuff more
@@KaneTime22 My son would be exactly the same even if I had a set up like that, but I would be happy enough playing Street Fighter in the corner with everything in attract mode! Looks great!
Now that is a Gameroom. Love Arcade1up cabs, but I would love to see something off to the side that is truly premium like an original Arcade, Cab or a Megacade, or a Taito Vewlix or Polycade. Just to give it that extra Bling Bling appeal.
100% no hate here at all, but a "real" cabinet really brings a different vibe. I currently have a sf2ce gen 1 arcade1up modded and im working on virtual pin, and I have a gameroom solutions "full size" cab on the way, but I also have an original donkey kong machine, crt and all. I got rid of my dynamo hs5 mame cab due to space, ended up with the arcade 1up, and then I randomly got the donkey kong from my neighbor. Real cabs are awesome and I can't keep away from them.
This looks and sounds fantastic! I just loved the arcades of the 80's. If it's in the attic do you have sound proofing so you don't annoy the neighbours, or maybe you live in a detached house?
@@KaneTime22 you're welcome, it looks amazing. You sparked an idea for a place in the house (the attic) that I've over looked - until now...We have 1 neighbour so maybe some sound dampening would be needed lol.
Is your electric bill crazy high? Thinking of making an arcade myself with my games and pin ball machines, just not sure how much more expensive it will be
I'm getting whacked bad because I have to run climate control around the clock pretty much because it's in my attic. The bill should be improving in the coming months
@@KaneTime22 so yeah it does make a difference huh… I guess a way to lower the cost is only turning Eveything on only when your in the room so not on for the majority of the day just some 2-4 hours while your there and have company etc
I'm actually looking for advice on that one. Right now I leave a shop vac in between two of the games and I've been using a shammy to wipe down. Not sure what's best for that though
Very nice. You need to do the wire mods on your T2 cabinet to not only make it look better but keep the cables out of tripping range. I'm also going to paint mine black (got it as a Christmas present).
Thanks. I did a rough estimate of square footage to weight on information that I could find online and according to that I'm in the clear. I also got the opinion of a family member who is a union contractor. Definitely something to think about and hopefully it works out
Does it get pretty hot up there? Did you add any sort of ventilation to the rooms? Just curious about that, and your power bill :D If you would have showed this to me as a kid in the 90s, I would have exploded with jealously.
Yes, very hot. A lot of people ask me if the electric bill is high and it's very high in the summer because I have to run constant climate control. I'm only up here once or twice a week so I don't have the games and lights constantly running but I always have air or heat running need be. Everything works off my phone so I can control it even if I'm not home. There's ventilation in the smaller room
It may be hot but all of these games operate on DC 12v so if it is hot, it is more because it is an attic and less because it is a gameroom. Had these been real OG arcade games and pinball machines, completely different story.
I just wanted your opinion. I have tmnt, t2, and mvc2. Since you've played most of the cabs I'm trying to decide between nba jam nfl blitz and mk2 deluxe. What would u go with?
Out of those 3 that you mentioned, I'd go with the Deluxe. This is going to be the first MK cabinet I'm passing on because I'm holding out hope for a pro series and I already have all the previous MK cabs released.
Yeah, I have to run a A/C most of the day and I have another one by the staircase. Temps in the 70s are no problem but we got whacked with a heat wave of high 90s for a while so I had to run them both quite a bit. Wife wasn't thrilled with the electric bill
Man that's awesome...I'd go missing for days - wife could serve food and drinks :P This in America? Not many Aussies here could afford that or want to risk it with home invasions these days.
Thank you. yep, US. Are you allowed to have fire arms? One of the best things about here, but obviously we have some bad dues making guns look bad here unfortunately
@@KaneTime22 Unfortunately banned since the early 90s but can get a licence for some certain guns. Yeah it's on the news here a lot but I say to others that you need to realise the size of America and still have some shootings + stabbings here. Had a blast there and plan on returning.
@@joshuabrucemellis7933 Every country is going to have the odd shooting or stabbing here and there. But you don't have repeated mass shootings where 20 children are being murdered in school because AR-15s are outlawed there. To keep things in perspective, the US is the only developed country in the world that has that situation, and it's largely because anyone can get their hands on these weapons without a background check. Size isn't really the issue at all because your just as likely to have a mass shooting in a small, rural community like Uvlade (which is so small you've never heard of it before the recent mass shooting) as you are in Miami or Las Vegas. Germany is 7 times more densely populated than the US, and since the year 2000 has only had 6 mass shootings resulting in more than 4 deaths (from pistols). During that same timespan, the US has had 20 mass shootings with the minimal death count being 10, and 7 of which resulted in over 20 deaths (all from AR15 or AK47 style weapons). Blacksburg, Virginia a small town with a population of 44,000 had the third deadliest (32 killed) mass shooting in American history. So no, size clearly isn't the issue! It's the lack of gun regulation in this country which allows easy access to the type of weapons which no citizens should legally be allowed to have.
Thank you. Yeah thats the struggle. That's why I can't get rid of the Foosball table because she bought that for me lol, but at least she gave me this space up here
No, only when I'm up there. Only thing that runs constant is heating and cooling devices. They work from my phone so I can check on them. Bill is highest during the summer
Nice job man very well done. You obviously put a lot of work and effort into your room. You even have the old school consoles and stuff which makes it even more sweet. Check mine out if you get a chance. I'm just looking for some honest opinions.
thats quite cool im looking at arcade machines on youtube and stuff and my name is also kane idk if thats just your youtube name but thats pretty cool i guess.
@@KaneTime22 Definitely the most hyped up season in a very long time. Prob the best roster we've had since the Ricky williams days when we also had Zack and Taylor....
@@KaneTime22 Yeah we found a hidden gem with Skylar Thompson. Tua better be on point this season because that kid looked pretty damn sharp for a rookie.
