7:11 I just realized Ekko, charged at someone with a pipe, just like Benzo, and he was about to die just like Benzo did but the other Firelight literally saved him omg
I mean she did literally drop a grenade next to him, so probably... Nah I mean, maybe? Who's to say we can't really infer because he never says anything about it, but it probably would've been talked about and maybe he would've put two and two together, but he might not know it was from Powder. I dunno, honestly, I didn't even think about this... oops
I tought, based on lol lore, Yordles can't die? I don't see directly how he teams up with Jayce, as Jayce is kinda classist. I could rather see a teamup with Victor, or at least a confrontation, especially if they fit the "glorious evolution" thing in, which would be at the expense of Ekkos people.
Yeah in lol lore but we don't know how arcane differs to lol, it might be that they do die in Arcane, but we'll see, I could be wrong, but I kind of hope they're like biologically immortal than actually unkillable. Well that's the point and the struggle I hope happens between them, Jayce is classist and Ekko hates topsiders with an outright passion, it's a compelling narrative because they both represent similar ideals from different walks of life, trying to do what's right, but where Jayce fails because his ambition keeps leading him astray and he doesn't understand how dangerous things can be as he's always been bailed out and made it to the top without too much adversity, Ekko will succeed because he understands what it's like to be at the bottom and what the price of living actually is as for Viktor, no I don't think he's going to be teaming up with anyone and more than likely he's going to be a real big bad guy at the end of the show. The "glorious evolution" Viktor would piss a lot of people off unless done VERY well, but I guess they could make him corrupted by the Arcane and he sees that as evolution and becomes an arrogant sod about it, but I dunno... I think that'd be a bit too much character assassination, maybe it'd be better to have him be the conflicted anti-protagonist with decent motivations for survival than just a "muhhhh I represent the best" kind of villain, since he's been characterised as a gentle soul that's just trying to survive
@@Nomsynho I think one thing that would speak to Heimerdingers survival is that it would be strange if they showed us his death in a trailer in a bit of a flash. Something I think that is likely to happen is that several characters get catapulted into the "arcane", where Heimerdinger would be a candidate next to Jinx, Mel, Viktor and Jayce. I think they will explore the class divide further with Viktor and Jayce, as those have a repetoir from previous season and wouldn't have to start from scratch. While I do see Viktor getting a more villainous arc, I am not sure whether or not he will be the big bad. So far we haven't got hints about the glorious evolution in the trailer but people floating and being changed (enhanced?) by the arcane. Viktor could see that as a blessing, while the more sane people try to get out, and Jayce as well as Heimerdinger would have to try to approach him to at least convince him that not everyone wants to be "eaten by the arcane". Though I am really, really curious what the arcane stuff is about. I have dug into lol lore after I watched Arcane, but haven't come across anything like this in such a big style. Yet,... just as I write it,... maybe it is the spirit realm that Aurora connects to? Where thanks to the hextech shenannigans ppl got transfered in? Which would make Vi's arc even more akin to Korra XD
We know they can't die from old age, but they probably can be killed. Their lore gets retconned every couple of years, it's getting a bit out of hand. As far as I know, the only story that goes into detail is about a character who wants to die, and LoL usually isn't a property that discusses things like suicide (and definitely not in a context where it's coming off as dark humor from hamster people), so the whole story can still be taken as being about aging.
@@JenniferFuss It is, and yeah, I know League lore. I did get a sense that they were discussing natural death in her story, though. But again, who even knows what the deal with yordles is these days. Although now I feel like the yordle from Mageseeker really does mention something about not understanding death, but I might be misremembering.
I think that Ekko and Jinx had been interacting and quarreling often since the events of episode #3. "She's here" is spoken by one of the firelights in Ep.4 before Jinx blows him up. Jinx calls him "The boy savior" in ep.7 which hints at a history of Ekko having tried to get her away from Silco in the past. Ekko is quite certain that Vi can't "save" Jinx when he is talking to Vi after reuniting with her. It's as if he is speaking from experience.
I remember being hyped when Ekko showed up in Act 3 It was my junior year at the time, and the whole first two acts, I was talking about League lore with two of my friends who didn't know any of it, and I was telling them "this dude in the opening is DEFINITELY Ekko" He's definitely one of my favorite characters in the show. I love his description as "Little Man" and "The Boy Saviour" he's not the strongest, he's one of the smarter characters in the series, but he has these HUGE shoes to fill, leading the Firelights to make Zaun a better place for everyone I love it
It seems like he's going to It'll be interesting to see the inevitable conflict between Jinx and her allies vs Ekko and the Firefights for leadership of Zaun while the whole Zaun vs Piltover thing is going on, with whatever the hell Noxus has planned, and the ARCANE tm
I doubt that there will be a multiverse style ending. The Z Drive in previous lore can only go back a minute or so. If you like Ekko, the have some cool stories on the riot website that may or may not be Canon anymore.
He's literally used the Z-drive(not intentionally) to see the multiverse in the original canon, so my guess that will probably happen again to an extent
I don't think so, Ekko and Jayce follow the same path but at different trajectories, pretty much everything Ekko does will be hard won but it won't kill people, I don't think Ekko would pay that price for technology, or at least I hope not...
Sadly I don't think the writers care that much about ekko. He will probably get the least amount of screentime again and we won't get to learn about his internal and external motivations(unlike the other characters). At least he'll get to do time stuff which is cool
I think a lot of his story is more implicit than explained, he might not have screen time but he absolutely has motivations that you can clearly see throughout season one
Ekko doesn’t get much screen time but he feels so developed. Like, it feels like he’s always got something going on, he has so much unrevealed backstory. There’s so much intrigue, and so many questions I have about him. It’s such clever writing. He’s the protagonist, just in a different story. I can’t wait to see more of him in season 2
