Are you find how to create irregular index?

Irregular indexes are just existing layers you use so that each feature in that layer is its own page in the map book or atlas. So you would create it just like any other new feature class and layer.

That is a great question. I am not aware of a way to do that without creating multiple maps and layouts with just the basic functionality. However you could create a python script that would accomplish that.

Glad to hear the video was helpful. As to your question about overlap, I assume you are talking about the Create Strip Map Index tool. As far as I know, it will only overlap in a single orientation as you have seen demonstrated. That is because it is expected that you are following a linear feature and will need to show a match line or area between one map or the other. What you could possibly do if you want overlap between grids on all sides is create a Model in ModelBuilder or a python script that would generate the grid with no overlap. Then scale each grid around the centroid to achieve the desired overlap.

Not really, I am not sure if they have enabled the dynamic legends in ArcGIS Pro yet.

Here is an update to our original reply. When importing an MXD with Data Driven Pages not all the settings seem to come into ArcGIS Pro and must be reset manually. This includes the dynamic Legend.

Hello Nate - Thanks for watching the video. To have the rotation work, there are at least two things you need to have. First is an attribute field in the table for the index grid which contains the rotation value. Then you need to point the map series setup to that field. You will find this under the optional fields.

Honestly, I am not sure if this is possible in the current versions of ArcGIS Pro.

If you are referring to the source text from the Esri basemaps, I am not sure you can.

There is no singular way to create an irregular index because they are just any existing layer you want to use to determine the location and number of each page that will be in your map book or atlas.
