Yep, I think it has a great deal to do with spirituality, so I'm guessing the more they devote themselves to God, the stronger that angel would be? It would explain why an archangel would be able to defeat Lucifer, who was said to be above all other angels at that time. I think once Lucifer fell away from God, his power diminished compared to other angels who ranked lower than himself. But I'm just guessing based on everything I've learned

He's on earth, and can only ever be in one place at a time- he wants to be like God, and turn others away from God and influence them onto his side. The fallen angels are in hell, but human spirits technically would go to Hades as a holding place if they were unrighteous spirits/ non-believers, and the believers would go straight to heaven. After Jesus' second coming/ the Final Judgement in Revelations, the righteous would rise up first to heaven, then the unrighteous in Hades are sent to Hell with Satan and the fallen angels.
