This guide has some things wrong! you can get the novice rod at 10k Prof. and start sports fishing. The flex rod is great for bait worm fishing which is a good way to get prof. and the sturdy rod is best for sports fishing. The sturdy rod lets you deal more damage to the fishes. He is right about using big reel at the end of one button and about the fishing gear.
Thank you! Let me know if theres any content you'd like to see on the channel! I've been playing archeage for a very long time (Since Alpha) and it is great to see the community grow.
You should do the math in your videos to show how it makes you rich and at what rate. Here, I’ll do a rough estimate: I think you said, 51 labor to catch, 43 to turn in. So 94 labor total for one fish. You turned in one for about 12g and one in for about 10g, so 11g average. 11 / 94 = 11.7 silver per labor, which is great but that’s not the whole story. You have to subtract chum and lure from that. How much do those cost? Also, you need to factor in the cost of that ultra expensive boat if you own it. Keep in mind that your goal is to make what’s considered good money as a minimum, which is only aboit 7-8s per labor point. You can do this with a lot of other easier methods with little or no up front investment. If I remember correctly, these boats take a LOT of materials, very expensive ones especially on a fresh server. With the expense of the boat you could be talking aboit fishing for a month or longer exhausting your labor only on fishing before you start making a profit. Thoughts? -Yorticus
YorticusTV as of recently fishing hasn’t been a great method of making money. It’s still good but unless you enjoy doing it it’s probably not worth the time anymore. Unfortunately things change, the investment of a fishing boat is great though. Once you have it you have it forever. It’s got more uses than just fishing too.
Skixi Thanks for replying, the beginning portion of my comment was just in general. Doing the math, even if it changes will show people your thought process of how you figure what’s profitable and not. Imo it’s a good idea. Do you mind elaborating on other uses of fishing boat?
YorticusTV pirating, they are quite quick and they can hold a scanner, a backup boat is always good in general. Baiting fishers to think you’re just fishing, baiting pirates for some pvp.
Also you dont have to do this alone. I used to go out on voyages with 3-5 people total 1-2 fishers and some pvp guys to keep us safe literally their entire job was to stand at the ready and make sure we were safe and I'd catch them a fish all they had to do was stand around and let me do my thing. With a fully upgraded boat you could catch 7 total fish 5 in the tank and 2 on the back hooks. Not to mention each person carrying. Effectively you could have around 10-12 fish per 30 minutes run with a proper crew. Even at 10-12 gold a piece you're making bank but once you get high enough fishing stats you can start pulling in 37 gold per marlin and can make way more.
yes you can but it's a waste of time (a waste of money too if you are the one who use the chum to open the fishing spot), it's because only the fishing boat is capable of storage fish. So, if you use any other kind of ship you would no be able to catch more than one fish because you don't have a storage for them. You'll need to change them for gold and return again at the fishing spot and that's a waste of time... and money because once you open the spot , it's going available just like for 45 minutes
you can either buy it with 500 gilda stars, or join a fishing raid (salt water) to do an achievment to get the design for free. (its under vocation and fishing on achievments). it takes ages to do solo, while in a raid its 50-100x faster
