@@See-BeeBee123 He's not. Nasu and Takeuchi had an interview about it where they stated that Archer comes from a route that is SIMILAR to the Fate route, with a few differences like him being unable to save Saber's heart

@@anadaere6861 I think you're thinking of a Satan equivalent in other mythos, which would have done no effect in an actual Satan, unless you're thinking of some sort of "enemy" or "final evil" other mythos have in that case, it would not be Satan.

@@anadaere6861 I mean, “Satan figure” is very broad. The Greeks, for instance, didn’t really have a Satan. Neither Hades, god of the underworld that bears his name, nor Thanatos, god of death, are anywhere near his level. The only reason Hades is seen by many people nowadays as a Greek version of the devil is because Christians interpreted him as such. They saw a god ruling the underworld, and thus equated Hades (the god) to Satan and (the underworld) to Hell, despite them being very different.

at the end of ubw rin joins the clocktower (basicaly the magecraft government if it was made out of sharks) and becomes a very successful mage

She later joins the Clock Tower, becomes the Kaleidoscope's apprentice, and if I remember correctly, goes on to become one fo the absolute best mages to come out of the Clock Tower in its history and in the future. I think it was around Top 30 mages ever?

I actually did back when the first episode dropped. Sony JP struck the video down almost right away. I've avoided do more because of that (which sucked because the series was Great!).

Because anime movies have a bigger budget than a TV series, you might not like it, but anime movie adaption of arc is more accessible than 12 episodes with less of a movie budget

As Archer notes, the main purpose of a MPDG is that they allow the protagonist to remain an escapist character who doesn't have to emotionally or psychologically mature beyond a representative of shut-in otaku the product is aimed at. Ritsuka tends to be more about helping their Servants work through their issues and grow as people accordingly, it's just that they're unusually bordering on uniquely compatible with all Servants due to having a very "take people as they are and subtly encourage them to do/be better" philosophy, which we can see the results of with Servants like Jack, Caster Gilles, Jeanne Alter, and even Gilgamesh is relatively chill around Ritsuka. Kiara, of all people, finds them so fascinating that she creates an Alter-Ego just to try and tempt them into falling, and is routinely impressed when they don't (and even she's starting to grow as a person, seen when she's totally legit in supporting Ritsuka during the Kama event, up to and including sacrificing herself rather than, say, going full Beast and fighting or merging with Kama on even footing). So Ritsuka is kind of like, the anti-Manic Pixie Dream Girl, in much the same way Kiara is an anti-Saver: they check off all the boxes but are fundamentally different in their execution, which creates a vastly different result.

The usual manifestation of the plot goes like this: Very serious and/or depressed (usually because of a previous lost love) man is living a life where he's just going with the flow, moving from one moment to the next just surviving, not really living. Often a somewhat stodgy businessman or a lawyer, or some other stereotypically serious white collar job. Enter the MPDG, a quirky dreamer with her head in the clouds, whose overriding character traits are that she likes having fun and practically glows from being high on life. The arc of the story is usually breaking the main character out of his shell, teaching him to enjoy things in life and be less serious about everything, or help him get over his depression. She'll typically also die somewhere in the late second or third act, leaving the protagonist temporarily broken again before he picks himself up and tries to live by her example. The end. I'll admit it's not completely wrong to call it an escapist fantasy, but it is completely wrong to say it's about allowing an already disconnected person to stay that way, it's about taking a very disaffected person and showing them how to enjoy life (in some cases, enjoy life again). It's basically the plot of 3/4s of all hallmark movies, but they'll usually cut out the death part. Come to think of it, it's also the plot of Your Lie In April...

In that moment, i think it does have a different 3rd meaning for her specifically... obviously for us the viewers who have seen UBW, it is foreshadowing... however for RIn herself in that moment it is actually a way to say that she TRUST Archer as well, and wants him to admit that he is Shirou Emiya.

Yep. He has about a day of doing whatever he wants without a master. (Unless he took activities to prolong that.)

He pretty much doesn't require mana to survive (he just cannot refill his mana when exhausted by a fight if his master do not cooperate). Command seals are still a problem for him, though. Without Caster's rulebreaker, he would have a pretty bad time opposing Rin's first two command seal (absolute obedience, and not killing Shirou). Especially for the second one, the first one was way to broad to do more than just being mentally painful and nerfing his stats.

He also can actually used Rule Breaker at any time to cancel the Contract.

It's also true that the grail can't summon deities in their full power. They are either pseudo-servants or alter egos (like Ereshkigal\Ishtar (Rin), Jaguar Warrior (Taiga), Kama (or the many other Sakura hosted entities, Sakura be a popular girt) or Sitonai (Ilya) etc.), or they are summoned at a fraction of their full power (like Quetzalcoatl, and Orion (Artemis literally dropped her divinity down all she could in order to be summoned with him). Much as I would like to add the gorgon sisters to the list, even though they are the children of two primordial gods, their power isn't on par with the newer gods, who literally beat down the Titans. They done our girl Medusa wrong so much. So despite the grail being able to summon deities, the vessels they are summoned in can only hold a fraction of their power, which is why Gil seems overpowered in comparison. All of the demi-god servants are just so overpowered *cough* Karna, Arjuna and Gil. Even Heracles is damn near impossible to kill for MOST servants, including many other demi-god servants (if you want to go by the VN standards).

Tbh, I think it is more likely that if Shirou met Kirei right there he would just have dumped everything he knew about Kiritsugu on Shirou and put him on the "Mind of Steel" mindset, just like he did on the Superhero bad ending of the original VN.
