You're really convincing me to come back to the game in this server, really amazing what they are doing, can I login with my existent account from the public server, like, with the same chat to keep progressing?
Unfortunately, no. The private server is a separate entity from what was released by Trion and carried on by Gamigo. Kinda like wanting to take your seniority from Wal-mart and apply it to Target. Same basic concept of the game, but aside from the core code, they are not connected.
Extra: I started on the private server at the end of March. I remained logged into Live because I didn't want to let go of what I had there. But by June I had already acquired about half of what took me years to get on Live. Given that, I logged out of Live and only returned once to talk to a friend. For about 15 minutes.
Once I update my CPU i want to hop in. But the problem is i have no friends to play with because im sad and lonley lol. I hate playing MMO's by myself so if it get more population and i try it i will continue to play because i heard great things about archage but is ArchRage less p2w or equal to Archage?
This is how I see it: with Archeage, it will always be p2w depending on what you want from it. For the Legacy server (official, not Unchained), it is a crafting game with pvp, housing, and cosmetics - meaning that you need to either work hard or use a credit card to be able to participate in the non-crafting aspects and get anywhere. For AAU (Archeage Unchained, official not Legacy server), it is a PVP game with crafting, housing, and cosmetics - meaning that PVP is the "free" focus of that version of the game. For Rage (not official, private server), I see it as a play how you want game - what Archeage was meant to be. Can swipers get ahead in Rage? Absolutely. Do you have to work to not use a credit card and compete with swipers? Yes. BUT! Where Rage differs from AAU and Legacy is that the p2w is offset by events in game and in the forums that players can participate in to win credits (p2w currency) and no one HAS to pay to participate in ALL aspects of the game. PVP will be tougher without swiping, but not to the extremes that I experienced on Legacy. I am sorry my response is so long, I hope this helps.
One thing i dont mind doing is working hard in an mmo. Work hard in everquest 2 and still working hard. I work hard in ffxiv. Taking my time to gear and grind i can do as long as i have people to help me and dedicated to try and teach me. As i said i ave no friends so no one can help me learn the game. Everquest 2 i have a friendly guild with my maxed out toons in it and my alts im lvling and ffxiv i have a free company as well as a dungeon party which finds players to join you in the dungeon/raid/trial so your are never by yourself. I cant wait to try archrage and expierence what i hope is what i was looking for. Thanks for the info :)
Right now, Rage is suffering and needs all the players it can get. The combination of WoW Classic and AAU took many players from us. The good news is that when people realize what AAU is about, they will return. The bad news is, how long will it take them to figure that out. As for community, Archeage has a very steep learning curve with very little resources available through google searches. You kinda have to rely on the community to help you out. My own guild focuses on farming and enjoying the lazy life of the game, but there are guilds that focus on PVP and will teach you how to be the best you can be. As for dungeons, there aren't many and most can be done with 2-3 players where one of them is geared. Raids are open world and do not require you to know anyone. You join the raid when you see people calling it out in chat, go to the location, follow the group, and contribute the best you can, then leave.
I love this server! Land is easier to get right now. 4.0 is going to be awesome! We get to use/make old gems from my understanding and trade systems are better. We have both systems. Just saying.
I hope to be able to make a 4.0 announcement video soon, real life is slowing me down though. Due to so many people going to Unchained to check it out and WoW Classic, land is definitely easier to get now than it was a month ago. I would say move quickly though because 4.0 will bring people back and bring in new people.
